Default Im not upset that Fed lost. Im upset by the way he behaved.

Federer is one of classiest and nicest tennis players and a very decent human being but Im not exactly sure what he said to Murray there but it kinda got to me. I respect and admire this man at every possible level and i love how he always gets the fans on his side wherever he goes but im very very surprised by the lack of maturity he displayed on that point. Not Federer like at all, not one bit. But i guess as you age more your patience wears thin but thats still no excuse. Hopefully he can clean it up and become the classy tennis player the world knows him by. Credit to Murray

Check out the other threads on the topic where I posted excerpts from both Murray and Fed's pressers. Both guys appear cool about it and seem to hold no hard feelings.

It's much cooler to be self-righteous and start a new thread.

Federer's always whined when losing. It's just usually at the umpires, as opposed to saying something to an opponent directly.

From "It's killing me today" to "I don't give a s--- what he said" to numerous other things I don't specifically recall.

If he didn't get angry at losing, there'd be no way he'd be as successful a player as he is. At least he's not taking BS MTOs like certain other players...

Personally, I wish we'd see Roger Angerer more often. I want to see him play an entire match just livid with his opponent, but also playing well enough to where it doesn't result in him breaking his racket (unlike Miami 2009 vs. Djokovic).

No one knows what he said, its all speculation.

However, acco to the rules (from what I know), opponents are NOT supposed to talk to one another in this way. (It's okay to ask the opp if the ball is out or check if the opp is hurt or apologize for a net-cord) ... Fed should know the rule about this.

This match was shown on a time delay, he actually shouted a lot longer than you guys thought because the director in the gallery cut it down.

What he actually said was...

Do we know if Fed was yelling at Murray ? Has the camera caught Fed looking directly at Murray when he yelled ? Even so, players yell on court all the time (obscenities at that) and it is never considered directed at their opponent. It is more like yelling at themselves or just yelling, period.

Not saying it was Nice but you guys expect these people to be superhuman. Federer has to be Classy, show heart, passion, be mentally strong, good, energized, with respect to his opponent, not giving in, hate to lose, be a great sport, smile all the time and be kind.

It wasnt good, but it wasnt terrible. These things happen. Give the Guy a break. Hes 31 and put his complete heart in 2 consecutive 5 setters.

@ HoodMan: This match was Federer's downfall, that's for sure.

Sensible people will give the guy a break of course, unlike idiotic *******s would created 10 threads non stop attacking if any other player for example Nadal would have done such a thing.

Reading the interview, it looks as though fed only knows about a look, not a yell or scream.

Federer is the mentally weakest player I have ever seen, and as evidenced by his outbursts throughout his failure of a tennis career, I doubt he really knows how to respect his opponents. A 2-6 fifth set loss thoroughly deserved.
