I herd I should string looser but how loose? I also don't want to sacrifice spin on my western forehand too. Any help?

Try going 10% lower than your current tension as a start and see how that works. If not enough depth go down another 10%. First read J011y Roger Guide To Strings in FAQ section then go out and experiment.

Wrong direction. You should TIGHTEN the strings by 2-3 lbs. Better yet, hit the ball 6 inches higher over the net, and you'll get added depth.
