Default Will Djokovic surpass Federer?

We now can consider Djokovic winning the Australian slam as given. The relevant hypothetical question is if Djokovic win all four Slam this year, will Djokovic surpass Federer slam count at some point?

The possibilities are not hard to imagine given Djokovic flawless defense and striking offense ability now and in the next three years. Plus the cvac machine for quick recovery, it it hard to see anyone beating him in a 5 set match.

Gosh... He is in the semi final (WITH SEEDS 2 & 3 STILL IN THE COMPETITION) of the first slam, so clearly it's time to start postulating on him getting the full boat.

I give up.

I think Federer's gonna stick around as long as he can to make sure that doesn't happen. Djoker won't make any progress at the French as long as Nadal is around. Murray's been pretty strong too.

It's all going to depend on how long Nadal's knees hold up and when Fed finally decides to let go, which I don't see happening anytime soon.

He probably won't pass the slam count. Even if he wins all four this year.

What I've seen from Djokovic makes me doubt him winning the AO more than I did before the tournament.

Ask Clarky.

Djoker started peaking too late, and in too strong of an era. 2 all-time greats are swimming in these waters, and they've cost him a chance at the slam record. About 20 slams until he turns 30, he'd have to win at least 10-12 of those to put him in position to snag it post-30. It's not impossible, but I reckon with his style of play, he won't be able to maintain Nole 2.0 for 5+ years.

Like he was going to win the Grand Slam in 2012? Yup, that didn't work out either.

Even if he wins 2/year he still needs 6 years just to tie Federer. It's not going to happen.

Murray just won the USO and has shed the never won a slam weight.

The pressure is off and he did well last year against Novak..and I think he has what it takes to win the AO this year.

next time Murray will feel pressure at a slam is going to be wimbledon because the press in the UK will be hyping it like crazy after last year.

Yep. It's going to be funny when it happens too. The hissy fits thrown by the very same *******s that were rooting for him endlessly against Nadal will be legendary.

Huh? He's already won the AO. No way he loses it now.

Djokovic's main role in the history books now is being Federer's main tail-gunner to prevent Nadal catching Federer.

It's working.
