Default There's something with my forehand (video included)

Hello,

I've been playing tennis for 6 months now and while I improved significantly over short period of time, I feel that there's something missing with my forehand. I can easily rally with 3.5 - 4.0 but I feel that I'm doing something wrong. When I watch myself, i feel that I'm lacking something.

It'll be great if you guys can critique my strokes.

Looks ok! U should try to hit a bit more through the ball. Do what u do now but imagine that u have to hit through 4 balls on a line instead of just one. I think ull see a noticable improvement, as the rest look quite ok, especially for 6 months.

I think your forehand is very good.

Tracking the ball with both hands in front. Shoulder turn, hand separation. Wait with take back until ball bounces. Weight transfer as you hit up and across, finish with other shoulder to net.

I am a MTM coach and I dont think at all you should hit more through the ball as you rally from baseline.

maybe your hand at the end of backswing should go a bit higher. Now it ends just above hip level. You can very well take it up to shoulder level and that way get a more pronounced up[down[up swing path to the ball.

It just looks a bit lazy as you move passively and as your partner hit slow balls.

I agree, the forehand is fine...now go to the other strokes....and maybe fitness, agility etc.

Not bad at all.
I would keep a little wider stance so that your lower body is automatically lower and gives you a stronger foundation.

Your non-dominant (right hand) is sort of flying away as you hit through. It shouldn't. It should be getting tucked in to prevent your body from opening up to quickly. Good way to fix is to catch the racket at the end of follow-through. Some pros - like Murray or Djokovic - don't appear to catch it, but their arms are not flying away like yours.

And, when you take the racket back, use your right hand sort of guide your racket back so you naturally get the shoulder turn.

Your left leg should never kick back as it did in one of the shots.

I would concentrate on hitting through the ball like people suggested and staying down low.
