Selling stuff on the internet.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

I have sold a couple things on the internet, I am in no way shape or form a professional seller of stuff on the internet. I've sold baseball tickets a few times, a few tennis racquets, some furniture and a bike.

My question is, people ask for pictures of an item that is perfectly described in an ad, for an example I'll be selling a racquet, describe the string, grip size, and condition (say 9/10). The pictures are sent, which basically show the racquet in its current form but with no dings as described, just the same way you could look at a picture on TW, then the buyer is never heard from again. Its happened to me with baseball tickets, and a fairly new bike. Furniture i can understand, you don't like the look, don't buy it, but a racquet? Its like the "catfish" thing I keep hearing about, except people act as pretend buyers.

Do yourself a favor and post the pics in your ad. Cuts down on the emails.

The reason people want to see pics is because lots of sellers are lying d ouche bags.

The auction site's buy it now with immediate payment is the best way to go IMHO. You don't have to deal with many flakes that way.

^Amazingly stupid thing to do. This is why people should always be skeptical when buying things online from strangers. If you wire 6K to someone you don't know, and leave yourself no recourse, you are an idiot and deserve to get ripped off.

I have spotted fake racquets in pictures;

I have spotted the wrong gripsize in pictures;

I have spotted lack of original grip (not mentioned in ad) in pictures;

I have spotted racquets labeled as "8/10" to be much closer to a 4/10 in pictures;

I have spotted that a 'leather jacket' actually was made from PU in pictures.

Should I go on?

Even pics don't prove much. Some sellers use other people's pics and don't disclose that they have done so.
