Default Old Man Tommy strikes again!

It's the other one this time!

Tommy Robredo beat Kevin Anderson in 3 tight sets in Casablanca to win his 11th title,10th on clay and 1st in over 2 years!

Nice comeback win for a guy who turns 31 in 2 weeks' time and was off the tour for most of last season with injury.

Well done Tommy R!

Great to see him doing well...

This should give him a ranking within or very close to the top 50. He'll be in main draws of a lot of tournaments. Good to see a single handed backhander do well.

Happy for him. Clay court specialist in the old school mold. No weapons. Classic spanish resolve on clay. Out thinks most opponents. Just beat in form Kamke, Paire, Wawrinka and Anderson in successive days. Over 400 wins on tour and 200 on clay. Only a handful of active others can boast matching pedigree. Almost 31 years old as well. Nadal spent at least 2 weeks practising with him in late January on a daily basis at the venerable old Real Tennis Club Barcelona and i suppose it helped old man Tommy more than it helped Rafa get in shape. Again , a good source of inspiration for all us old farts!!

I remember Robredo from his matches against Federer. Nice 1hbh. Took sets off but never won (0-10). Good to see him win a tournament.
