This report broke from a Miami newspaper on tuesday and so far the biggest focus is on professional baseball players.
Thats why as I was reading the article I was shocked to see a tennis name listed as a client, and Wayne Odesnik to boot! http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2013-01...biggest-names/ In summary the article claims this so called clinic supplied HGH, IGF-1. steroids and other drugs to baseball players, boxers and various athletes. In a related note, american baseball announced on saturday it was investigating so-called wellness clinics in south florida...and that basically claimed the area from boca raton down to miami as "ground zero" for doping. Wow. Also, the article links two men connected to the University of Miami as clients of this so called clinic. I wonder how many pros train in Florida, Miami specifically??? Also, I wonder, if this is the clinic that supplied the HGH Odesnik tried to smuggle into Australia and if so, what names did he give up in order to shorten his suspension.

Those PEDs did wonders for his career. What a star, I knew there was a reason he was unbeatable for so long...

Murray trains in Miami! Foolproof evidence that the miserable Scot dopes himself to victory.

PED's can only help so much. Ultimately tennis is about skill and reflexes.
To further bust your bubble...most of the tennis ped convictions we hear about are the wayne odesniks and yannina wickmayer's of the world. no name journeymen/women who have no impact on the game. Convenient eh?

Why don't they tell us something we don't already know. Or will Odesnik be the perennial fall guy?

Best believe if their was a higher ranked player involved they would have been outed, seeing as the article outs Alex Rodriguez who is/was a top flight baseball player.

Whatever he took didn't help his career lol. Not a great incentive to dope for the new generation... (good news).

It's incredible that everyone in this thread assumes that just because he was not a top ranked player, the PEDs did not help him. The guy was a journeyman who spent much of his career ranked well over 400, yet continued to gradually improve until he was a fringe top 100 player who got ranked as high as number 77.
In tennis, if you are ranked 400 in the world you are losing money. If you get to number 77 you are making a decent living. Lower ranked players have just as much incentive to dope as higher ranked players, if not more. While the PEDs he used undoubtedly helped him improve his game in some way, they can only do so much. An average player cannot become the best in the world just because they use PEDs. |

True, but he probably did do better than he ever should have because of the peds. But you have a point though, because maybe if he could have afforded a better doping regimen, he may have had a better career.

I don't follow Odesnik, so maybe you can tell me did they improve his performances at all? And yeah it would be a huge blow to the sport if it got out that Federer,Novak or Rafa were taking PEDs all this time, but I don't think they've been doing that.

Odensik, like Rafa is undefeated when he wins. Coincidence? I think not.

Wikipedia: However, on 5 November 2009, the decision of the tribunal was announced, an effective one-year ban for both players.[5] Wickmayer, as well as Malisse, appealed the final decision, and her ban was lifted on 16 December 2009, after the appeal was granted.

Im not defensive, just annoyed by the stupidity of what you said. The article claims Odesnik was billed 500 a month for whatever it was he was taking. Cuz it makes perfect sense to pay 500 bucks a month for something that isnt helping you. or I guess unless you are top ten in the world, it isnt 'helping'.
