I also think Federer if he keeps his levelthe same has the edge on Murray and might even have a chance vs Nadal. But I do think he has a better chance at RG than the AO.
We just gotta take it one step at a time. First hope for the 18th. If he gets there, the 19th. If he gets there, which he probably won't, the 20th. It's funny how I was thinking, "Just this one tournament, nothing more!" during Wimbledon and now I'm getting so greedy

I was not talking about Djokovic, I was talking about Federer beating Nadal at the FO, and that is hard to envision at Fed's age now.

Exactly, with Federer I'm like:

- he's got 1 more in him
- Federer wins Wimbledon
- he's got 1 more in him
- Federer wins major no 18
- he's got 1 more in him
etc...

yeah after he won that and overall had such a good season, won 3 masters, got to number one... you start thinking, hmm could there be more in the tank? Has he un-declined a bit? Guess we'll have to see.

But that Wimbledon was too important. So much at stake. I won't mind too much if Federer never wins another Grand Slam again but if he had lost that Wimbledon semifinal/final, I'd never have been content with Federer's career.

18 majors, with an 8th Wimbledon. Mainly because I hate odd numbers.

Would you like Federer ending up with 18 instead of 19 Slams?

You would have hated Federer's reign at number 1 then

Yeah, I think he's terribly disappointed with his career, not being deemed worthy enough to be included in top 5 GOATs by a certain TW poster especially must constantly weigh on his mind.

You don't say.

It's the natural order of things in all sports no matter how good you are, if you don't believe me rewatch 2000 and 2001 USO finals or 2001 Wimbledon 4th round.

Actually none of them do/did but following your logic your idol certainly doesn't qualify now does he? Finishing your last year outside top 10 isn't going out on top, sure he won a slam but so did Fed at the same age.

And no before you mention his near decade long domination (like other of your supposed GOATs), 6 years is not close to a decade, it's closer to 5 years than 10 (simple math, I know).

On topic, I sincerely doubt he's gonna win more than one slam before he's done (heck it's arguable how likely he is to win even one more) so if I had to choose, it would be either another Wimbledon (to further **** off a certain fan base here) or another USO because I'd like to see him win another HC slam before he hangs his racquet.

I think he has one more slam left in him. I always envisioned him ending on 18, even back in 05. I will stick with that whether it turns out that way or not.

Absolutely. Who wouldn't want to be the all time leader in the most prestigous event?

hate to burst your bubble but there is no such thing as 'those are my picks thus they are realistic to me, go make your own'. its either realistic or not, that simple. unless you live in a world of your own like clarky does, where different rules apply.

with that being said, if federer finishes with anything but an injury is fine in my book.

I hate to burst your bubble but what's realistic to me need not be realistic to anyone else. That's subjectivity. I only asked people to make picks that are realistic to them, not to me. So if you don't find my ideal scenario realistic, too bad, make your own. If you can't, pray tell, why the heck are you in this thread?

Realistically speaking, Federer has 1-2 Masters left in him, no WTF/slams.

I think he was wishing that he didn't get injured.

Then he has to re-construct his statement. If that's what he meant, my apologies.
