Default Courier String

Apparently, Jim Courier used a cheap syn gut his whole career. Does anybody know what that string was?

No, they do not. It was slightly stiffer than regular OG micro

The Og sheep micro Jc were great strings, I still have a few left probably the best synthetic gut strings I've played with. I'm not a fan of the current Gosen og micro.

Default Stuff was garbage...

Never a fan of the Courier string... very stiff.. little power and feel and not the best for your arm. The string was at best average.. if folks still wanted it.. Gosen would still make it. If you remember, Jim had "hands of stone" at the net when he was playing full time.. and had to leave the game from dead arm. Wonder if it was the strings???

Jim now plays syn gut mains with lux crosses. He seems to like a stiff muted stringbed.

Keep in mind that Jim won a few Grand Slams with the regular OG Sheep Micro before Gosen made the JC OG Sheep.

If nowadays polys don't detain pros from stringing at 60pounds i don't think that JC syngut was an issue...

The string was still crap IMHO..... Again... Gosen would still be making it if was any good. They still sell OG Sheep Micro.. but no JC Micro. It is gone and no one is missing it. Might as well play Forten Nylon.. or weedwacker line.

I think they discontinued to optimize their line, and also, JC needed different production methods, different packages, etc... And these variations are really expensive.
Besides, the string was hard to market now that JC is no longer a pro. I think Gosen made it to JC liking mostly as a "favor"...

He said he uses Gosen Micro in the mains (not sure if its still Super JC as they don't make it anymore) with Lux Alu crosses. He said that he didn't like the feel of full bed Alu but thought it added some performance as a cross.

I think it was in one of his interviews with Tennis magazine.
