Default Christian Garin wins ATP match at 16

From Chile, 16 year old Christian Garin won his first ATP match beating a Serbian qualifier in Vina del Mar. Could he be the next big thing. Winning an ATP match on clay at 16 shows serious potential. Could he break the mould and make some serious progression as a young teenager! Nice to see new talent on the way up. He is ranked 10 in ITF junior rankings. He plays Chardy next

Well, what to say on that 'event'...
Chang won RG89 being 16..
Becker won Wimby85 being 17 and then Wimby86 being just one year older

Shows obvious promise then.

See how he does vs Chardy. Expect a loss, but let's see if he gets 3-4 games a set.

Nobody said that? The fact that he won an ATP match at 16 however is very promising.

He currently has more doubles points than singles point, maybe a Stefan Edberg?

Garin is very good. We'll see more of him in the future.

I think that Rafa beat Moya in an official event when he was 16 and Moya was still in the top 10.

By the way it is not bad winning an ATP match when you are 16!

nicolas massu has acted as a bit of a mentor for this kid. he certainly will need about another 5 years of development but he has potential. best of luck to him and his dream.

there are 4 post of the same thing just like when rosol beat nadal at W, or Janowickz or any other "player of the day", if he wins an atp at 16 i'll be impressed.
