I didn't realize his clay record was his best either. And he did well at the AO.

Vamos, Rafa. Watch out for the Chardy.

Chardy is the first real test for Nadal. Very dangerous player and very Rosol-like at times. One thing Nadal has got going for him is Chardy's quite weak backhand. A good old lefty FH vs righty BH pounding is in the make. But if Chardy is able to perturb Rafa's gameplan, we might see a surprising result.

I think Nadal shook a bit of rust off last game. I dont see how he'd lose a set against Chardy.

Chardy is a far better player than Rosol! I'm expecting a very close match tonight as Chardy looks to be in great form and is hitting the ball far cleaner than Nadal.

PS what does a bub mean!?

Hmm the first mini test for Nadal. But I still pick him in 3. He's still a lock for the title, his first loss will probably be against Ferrer/Almagro/Wawa in Sao Paulo/Acapulco

I hope he does. Rosol has barely won anything outside of Davis Cup (and that with Berdych's help) since that one match haters love when he had luck and Rafa's bad knees on his side.

You got to be joking if you can't tell the difference between grass and clay.
The first event Rafa played in 2006 (after his 2005 injury break) was Marseille and he lost in the semi but that was indoor hard. I believe he's gonna make both finals on clay (singles and doubles).
ETA: in 2009, he came back in Canada and lost in quarter to Delpo. Once again, if you think Nadal on hard = Nadal on clay, you haven't been paying attention.

What does any of that have to do with the fact that Chardy is a far better player than Rosol, which is exactly what I said, word for word.
