Default Best Finishing Knots

Let me know your thoughts.
I use the parnell but I'm trying to figure if there's a better finishing knot.

Thanks in advance.

Irvin will probably push, the VS knot, which is just a Parnell knot (tied bad), which happens sometimes, but it still holds. 95% of the time I use the Parnell knot, and when the main is tight to the cross tie off, I use the Wilson/Pro knot.

What advantage does the Wilson/Pro knot have?

That is a smaller size knot. Its good in tight places like when a knot is tied to a cross string and the end main is right next to it giving very little space for knot. Many use the pro knot for all finishing. I like the parnell for finishing and pro for the tight spaces, as that is what I am use to, and works for me.

It's not as bulky and push the main out like a Parnell or Double Half-Hitch.

Both the Parnell and Wilson/Pro Knots end neatly against the frame. Most other knots stick out.

So in that point there is not much of a difference in Parnell/Wilson Pro knot?

Not exactly. They are both neat knots (IMHO), but the Parnell knot is slightly bulkier than the Wilson/Pro knot.

FYI: The Wilson knot and the Pro knot are the same knot, but sometimes referred as either. That's why I put the "/" inbetween the two names.

If you ever string a Babolat APD, you will knot why we recommend using the Wilson/Pro knot when you tie off the bottom cross.

Wilson/Parnell knot. Nothing else needed.

I want to see that hook finishing tool that guy posted a while back again. I thought that was a really neat idea since it allowed there to be almost 0 tie off loss if you got the clamp close enough. Still agreed above, I only use the Pro knot. The Parnell works fine and is a little more secure I think.

Wilson, Parnell and the Vs Starting knot are all three about the same. The largest knot is the Parnell. The easiest one to tie is the wilson. The VS Starting knot looks the best. When tied properly all three will hold well and the tail rest up against the frame.

Again very similar to the Wilson knot.

I use the Parnell primarily, and the Wilson/Pro in tight spots.

I use the Wilson knot. I have tried the Parnell, but I find that I can't pull the string as tightly as I can with the Wilson. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I've been through the YouTube videos a bunch of times.

Pro knot for pretty much everything. Will use parnell from time to time for a starter on crosses.

I learned using the DHH and I still use it in tight spaces where I need tools(like E-Force) but since I started using the Wilson/Pro knot, I haven't looked back.

I've had racquets come in with some beautiful fishing knots, but the tail sticks right back into the stringbed.

I use the Wilson Pro knot for all my knots.

I'm sorry I don't understand.
I thought that the parnell was for finishing knots?
