Been using the same racket for 2.5+ years with the same lead set up and same kind of overgrips for a while now. I have been trying different strings and demo rackets regularly. I found some great strings, and while I'm not eager to switch rackets, I have also found some frames that are potentially a better fit that I will eventually switch to. Would not have been possible if I didn't try new things and there is nothing wrong with that.

Racquet : was Head MG PP for awhile, now Donnay P1 16 x 19. (more comfy and power)

Strings : Any Black polys 17, full bed, 54 lbs summer, 51/52 lbs winter

Overgrip : Head extremesoft, Black ones (cant stand white overgrips, looks so dirty)

Dampener : gamma TNT core black, i have a lifetime supply now and they never fall off, nothing as bad a flying dampener deep in a tournament.

Shoes and socks : Black B6's with thick nike basketball socks

Hat : Nike featherlight visor black. i dont care if its freezzing, heat waving or rain, no black visor, no play!!

Bag : dont give a dam, any will do

Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. The original from 2008. But I've only been using it a little under a year. I have no plans of stopping, but Donnay is tempting me lately.

I've been using the YT prestiges for two years and recently switched to the IG. I bought four matched IGs a while ago but only recently decided to go with them when I had trouble matching my YTs and it bugged me enough to change. I have two Radicals too but they're too heavy for me but I don't think that I'd have any problems playing with the Prestiges or Radicals. The main thing that I want today is consistency in frames. Two or more of the same racquet with the same weight, balance and swingweight.

I'm happy with BB Rough or Power - whatever my stringer has in stock. I'm sure that I could be happy with Wilson, Dunlop, Head, Babolat, etc., as long as it isn't too stiff.

I like to look around at what other people are playing around with but I'm more inclined to just stick with something that I can get matched sets of.

Hey man, long time no see. If you like the stock Donnay grip with a Head Extreme Soft over grip, I think you'd really dig a Wilson ShockSheild grip with no overgrip. It compliments and enhances, the unique feel of the P1 really well.

Head Extreme Soft is awesome dry, but it seems to get slippery pretty quick with a little perspiration. The Wilson SS is tacky enough that you dont need an overgrip, and is the most comfortable grip I've ever used. It weighs 24g untrimmed, which is pretty hefty, but you'd subtract the 5-6 grams of an additional OG. P1 plays a bit better tail weighted IMO, and that's an just added bennie in my book.

GS! Sorry to get a hold of you in this manner. I was searching online trying to find a klippermate instruction manual and found that you had emailed a PDF to a fellow TT'er and was hoping you could send it to me as well. If so, I'd be appreciative if you could send it to kjharris@gmail.com. Thanks, and again sorry for reaching out to you in this manner.

Racket - Angell 95 18x20 63RA.
String - SPPP 1.28
Grip - Leather size 3, Dunlop shaped, Pro's Pro overgrip.
Shoes - Adidas Stan Smith
Gear - Cerruti1881
Bag - old skool Vantage

I should add that this is the best modern racket i've ever used; and I should know, I've tried enough of the them!

Haha, we don't pimp no cribs here in Windsor my good man

Believe it or not these are great tennis shoes to actually play tennis in (and they do look cool in the pub afterwards I admit).

I've been using the same racquet setup since 1998.

Frame: Volkl C-9, weighted to 349 grams. (I have occasionally toyed with the weight; once I took as much as 15 grams off. Briefly. It was a bad idea).

Grip: On some, Fairways; Volkl leather on the others.

String: Ektelon Power Play 16 g. at 57 lbs. I could string this blindfolded by now. (This string used to be called Prince Synthetic Gut Soft back around 2000).

Shoes. Damn. They keep changing shoe models all the time. The best by far I ever had were Reebok Bonzers.

I'm actually planning to change frames soon. I have four of these, two are getting kind of soft and one is difficult; the other is relatively fresh for being ten years old.

Agreed.

And the OP changes overgrip according to what surface they are playing on.

Racquet: 3 PT57a's I matched to 12.6 oz 9 pts HL

String: Gut / poly hybrid. Not too brand conscious but VS or Volkl Gut and sonic pro or ALU rough is prob my fav

Shoes: Vapor 9's or Court Ballistecs

Grip: Head Finest Calfskin with gamma surpreme OG

Damp: Various Head dampeners

Clothes: Anything Nike. I love dri fit golf polos with tennis shorts

Opinion: I think after a couple years people should find an ideal setup unless they seek joy in switching for the sake of consistency

Hey, what's up C-Jack!!

Thanks for the advice on the shockshield, I will try them next. It's gonna be awhile though, I still got about 30-40 packs of xsoft still left.
