As I've said in other posts here, I'm 35 so I've hit that age where it doesn't take much to catch my eye

Uhh I think people don't know what 40 looks like because Federer these days definitely looks older than a normal 30 year old to me. 40 isn't supposed to be fully grey with wrinkles everywhere like John McEnroe and Mugs Wilander who both took a lot of drugs and lived unhealthy. They looked 60 when they were in their 40's.

rafa's appeal is more sexual though. the girls (and some guys) really light up when they see him. they can't help it, it's a physical thing.

Last I checked this was a thread about Fed's female following, not the gay following? Like everything else it's personal preference, I'm sure there are women who find him attractive, and women who don't just as there are for Nadal, Djokovic, Murray or any other player.
