Default Who's going to visit me at the Davis Cup?

As I (and the rest of my office) frantically work to prepare Boise for Davis Cup in April, I got to wondering if any of my fellow TalkTennis members were going to make the trip to Idaho for the match. Boise has a great tennis atmosphere and we are pumped to have the teams coming to town. Hope to see some of you here!

Dates are April 5-7.

http://www.daviscupboise.com/

Tickets will go on sale Feb. 25 (USTA members) and Feb. 27 (general public). Tickets will be sold in three-day packages only, starting at around $100 and going as high as $400 to $500 for VIP access. Approximately 30 to 40 percent of attendees will come from out-of-state, Ryan said. He said previous Davis Cup stops in Austin, Texas, Birmingham, Ala., and Winston-Salem, N.C. sold out within hours.

I reserved a room this morning within walking distance of the arena, just in case I want to go. This is my best shot to watch Davis Cup.

My husband and I attended the Davis Cup Final when it was in Portland back in 2007, I think. We tried to get tickets online but they sold out within minutes. Luckily a friend in NYC is friends with PMacs wife and she was able to finagle us some tickets through that connection. They were great seats --- actually in the players box/area so we sat next to Andy Roddick's father and in front of the J-Block. The fans there were rather interesting. Not what I thought were the typical tennis fans. We also sat by some people with a cowbell who had driven from Las Vegas to Portland in their RVs. They did not play tennis at all. Never did figure out why they were tennis fans and there.

I attended the Austin DC a few years ago, tickets popped up fairly regularly on Craigslist after the first day. I'd love to go to Boise, I bet Greg Patton is going nuts out there.

I'm n Oregon and because of that have never been able to see a pro match (apparently the ATP doesn't have interest in having a tournament in the entire western US outside of southern CA) so I will try to get tickets and make the drive. Hopefully it works out his is very exciting.

Since its 1-1 after day one, I bought a ticket for Sunday. I figure Bryan Bros. will win doubles, Djokovic will win his singles match, which should make the Isner / Troicki match a fun atmosphere and worth my 5 hour drive from Salt Lake (and I'll get to watch Djokovic too, which is nice).

I figure its a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to see Davis Cup as I'm probably not going to go too far out of my way for it.

Eat Potatos......

Awesome fishing and outdoors - drive up to Sun Valley for one of the worlds greatest ski resorts!!!!! 2.5 to 3 hr drive max.

Also with the university the you have plenty of cheap eats and cool places to eat and hang near campus.
