Happy for Benneteau, would be great if he wins this.
I always feel sorry for very capable players who just never won a tournament.

By going 2-4 against him, and 0-2 at slams?

If Federer is Benneteau's pigeon, Federer must be a microbe in the poop produced by Nadal's pigeon. 2-8 in the slam h2h, 0-2 in the hard-court slam h2h, and 10-18 overall. Where it counts.

i thought 17-11 is what counts

As Nadal's slam count stalls — the way things are going it's feasible both Fed and Rafa win only one more slam each — expect to hear that H2H trotted out even more (and you didn't think it possible).

Hmm, Federer has about 6000 points from Rotterdam till the end of Wimbledon.
I guess he lost about 500 from it.

Yeah, I guess so.

Still, he got back to #1 just enough to break "weeks spent at #1" (in addition to winning Wimbledon #7) so I guess it's okay.

He's capable but never won a tournament because he can't string together 3 or 4 great matches in a row. That's why he has a LOSING overall record.

In all honesty, Federer did not look like he wanted to be in Rotterdam. His win over the WC Thiemo de Bakker in the Round of 16 wasn't real sharp, IMO. And, then he came out and looked lax from the start against Bennetteau and was getting taken to the woodshed for the better part of a set and a half before he tried to crank it up. I believe he came from 2 breaks down to get the second set even before losing at the end.

I expect him to look a little more focused in Dubai, but we'll see.
