Default Federer interview

http://ibnlive.in.com/news/my-heart-...4467-5-22.html

My favorite part
I realised that when I was world number one, I would play an average match and people would say 'you played so well, it's unbelievable'. And when I would play incredibly they would say 'oh my god, we've never seen this tennis before in my life'. So it's always an exaggeration, the whole thing, and that's what we live in, unfortunately.

It's good Roger has a level head regarding fame. That's why hasn't gone crazy after all this.

That's because when you play(ed) your average, Fed, it was 10x better than 99,9% of the players on tour.

Fed at his peak just lost with Safin at AO05, Nalbandian at TMC05 and with Nadal in RG05 and RG06. Other losses Fed was not at his peak.

'At (the) Rotterdam (tournament last week) I was by myself, and I didn't feel the same. Maybe that's one of the reasons I didn't play well, who knows? I miss them much.'

"Stan struggled all match I had to hold the team together single handed but it was enough to get the win you know and win the medals" Federer after winning the doubles with wawrinka at the Olympics.

This gets blown out of proportion. Anyone who plays tennis knows shots like this are a good portion of skill and luck. Djokovic even admitted he was lucky for the shot to go in. Federer responded honestly and said the match was a good one and close up to that point. He then said the dynamic of the match changed because he felt like he was going to win, but djokovic went for broke on match point. Every good tennis player knows aiming for the line and hitting fast shots like that have a much smaller chance of going in.

Djokovic knew he wanted to lose or win the match on his own racquet. He decided he would try to take the match points out of federer's hands, which was actually a brilliant idea considering how attacking federer had been before those points.

Federer even congratulated djokovic later in the interview for pulling off the shot and staying mentally strong, but that part always gets cut out because federer's initial response was to how he felt about that particular shot.

nice humble opinion by the GOAT. The only thing I don't like is he kind of goes cranky and starts crying when opponent wins (USopen 2011 semis)

Do you have a link to this interview? In all the interviews I have read, Federer talked about how he and stan played well. There is one interview where Federer said stan did not play a bad match, but the opponent played better. It was then mis-translated to stan played a bad match.

Yes, this is probably the greatest threat to not having Federer around. If the family stops travelling with him, he might have to change his priorities, understandebly.
