Simon Vs. Haase is turning out to be a good match!

Lots of all court play with points finishing at the net. Very close scoreline...

Simon gets broken when serving for the match but then breaks Haase again. Simon now serving for a 2nd time for the match lol. And he wins it.

Simon is not bad at the net... i mean he's no pat rafter, but the guy can handle himself well.

Matchpoint for Simon!

Come on Gulbis! Plus it will help delpo eventually overtake berdych in the rankings.

Actually, he is horrendous. He just comes in at the right times, like Nadal. His game amazes me, everything is so simple. eg. Serve out wide, forehand put away down the line 15-0. 20 shot rally opponent unforced error 30-0. Serve, IO forehand approach net put away volley.40-0. Forced error and game. Its so simple, he always plays the percentage shot and never takes a risk...even if it might pay off

If Gulbis beats berdych here - does he get less points because it's a 250 tournament as opposed to a grand slam?

You know, I don't get the general hatred towards Berdych here. He's obviously not a saint, but is Nadal, is Djokovic,...? I personally love his arrogance, it's so refreshing.
And I really don't get the general love for Gulbis! The guy is either hit a winner or miss. No in-beteen, no use of any brain, no use of any smart tactics. And that forehand looks hella weird, did he change it lately?

Points are allocated for progress into a tournament, rather than who you beat. So yes, less points because it's a 250 rather than a GS, but opposition quality isnt' a factor.

Is Berdych having flashbacks yet from when Gulbis smashed him at Wimbledon? lol

ok thanks. Though obviously for the players confidence it's nicer to beat a higher ranked player, so that's why I feel gulbis is more motivated in this match, I think.

Playing 'Chain of fools' on the background? And I thought they played the currently most popular songs in all tournaments...
