Black. The dark and stealthy theme is a Prestige tradition.

Unless they've changed the mixture recently, the clear grommets on the IGs were brittle and prone to bits breaking off if you accidently caught the ground with the frame/CAP grommet eg. digging out a low ball for instance.

With that in mind, black v clear is a no brainer for me.

Definitely Black, but I don't care enough to change them from clear to black until I have to replace the grommets again (I had no clue you could use the previous version's grommets or I would of done it a long time ago).

The only thing I like about the clear CAP grommets is how you can see the "PRESTIGE" lettering on the frame through them.

Really? That's interesting, I've never heard of or seen that happen before & I've been using the IGPP since last summer.

I would also like to know if you (IG prestige users) who prefer black, did you end up changing them?

I use the IG. I changed the clear to the black grommets. I just thought they looked better.

I think black looks definitely better, but if I had the white ones on my racquet, I would play with them until they broke, before replacing them.

I feel the same way. I love the black grommets, but no need to change until they go bad.

They actually need to go back to the burgundy/borderline brown CAP of the PC600. It blends with the candy red theme better.

I must be the only one who likes the clear CAPs then. Even changed the blk ones on my 25th Ltd Edt version. I think the clear one is softer, which has lead others to say that it breaks quickly.

Regards

Paul

Black all the way! They should also be glossy and not black!

Negative on the glossy. No Prestige should be blinged out. It's bad enough they came out with the hipster version on a racquet with this much heritage.

Paul, any chance you could post a pic of your 25th Anniversary with the clear CAPs? Curious what that looks like. Does the black Prestige have "Prestige" written on the side like the red one?

The original CAP grommets were glossy and not matte. It doe snot look blinged out. It matches the glossy paint of the racquet so it blends in better. Also the Glossy CAP were the best plastic used.

Brown Glossy CAP Grommets

The top racquet is Brown glossy CAP Grommets vs matte black

I guess we have different interpretation of what is "glossy".

My PC600's burgundy/brown CAPS don't look glossy to me.

That's because yours are matte. The CAP Grommets on the last batch from TW were brown Matte.

You cant see the glossy shine on this Brown CAP grommet?

+1

Low quality brittle grommets on the prestige line was an interesting move by head.
