Thats what I thought, I was a big fan when he first came on the scene but he hasn't done as much as I thought he would.

What a dig from Tsonga at the net.

What a backhand to save virtual match point.

That was actually one of the rare times Jo displayed good tactics on court, Berdman is slaughtering him from the baseline.
I wouldn't say that was tactical prowess. Tsonga isn't a tactical player. He's a risk-taker, who feels the moment and that is what that was imo.

What a brilliant display of fast court tennis from both. A pity there are only 5-10% of these courts in the ATP so we get complete snoozefests instead of this fantastic tennis.

As others have said, Tsonga is flamboyant and fun to watch personality-wise, but I also like his game more. Berdych is very one dimensional and doesn't have much more than big, flat groundstrokes. Tsonga, on the other hand, moves better (and so can defend better), hits big groundies, and also comes up to net a lot more. I also like his service motion more, which seems to play a role in the players I prefer.

Great volley from Tsonga, I thought it was Berdych's point initially.

Maybe, but it was nevertheless the right tactical decision to make ( I'd think the same even if it didn't pay off), he had to mix it up and pressure Berdman

That wasn't necessary, Jo...

Well done, Berdych. Will Tsonga take another risk?
Great serve, haha!
