the only problem is that novak seems to want to be the popular guy... he tries to be the fun guy, the entertainer, the dancer, the shirt ripper* and such... he's obviously the most hollywood minded player of the mens tour.

that's why it's a topic of discussion. If he was comfortable not being the media and tennis fan darling then it wouldn't really be a 'problem' as such.

* This contasts badly with his tennis. you can't push your way to a victory and then rip your shirt off... especially when you're kinda skinny. it looks odd.

Nole will get super popular if he keeps on winning, trust me. Nadal is a global star and he barely speaks english, picks his butt between points and has to have his water bottles perfectly aligned. No one cares because he is a consistent champion. Nole speaks English very well and is fairly charismatic.

Nadal is the product of excellent marketing. Novak isn't marketed aggressively by the ATP and Nike.

He's still very popular because his game is more fun (IMO) and identifiable, is sweet and good looking... and well, there was a whole thread about this.

I think so too. Nadal was always attractive, but as he has gotten older he has gotten even better looking. Cvac started off unfortunate looking, and is only going downhill from there. He looks older than Fed does, yet he is 6 years younger. I think he looks downright sickly and unhealthy. He is a walking skeleton.

I also think Fed is another guy who got better looking as he got older. Look at him back in 2003 at Wimby and try and tell me differently. Lol.

That is actually a quite favourable pic of Rafa from 2005. I don't think he usually looked that good around then..
