In terms of ball pocketing and dynamic resilience, it's the Wilson natural gut
with Federer's picture, the Bobolat's original formula, not new BT7. |

If price is no concern, then Wilson gut is great.
For the best price/performance, Pacific Classic 16 for open patterns, or 17g for dense patterns.

Just picked up my Aerogel 100 with Bab Nat VS 17, its is stiff. Did not play with it yet just hit against the living room couch ( I won by the way). Feels stiffer than NXT, NXT Tour same tension of 52pds.
Crap, not liking it so far hopefully on the court I can feel the stiffness give me extra feel and control.

This worries me that it is only matter of time that the changes in VS will
trickle down to Wilson. By the way, BT7 is not just a coating, I heard, they reduced number of sub-strands from 16 to 7. They now have thicker threads. |

I would say Pacific Prime is the closest one to the old VS, aside from Wilson. That will be what people will need to go to if/when Wilson no longer uses the soft pre-BT7 formula.

The current BT7 in 17g is thick, looks like a 16g to me. Feels like NRG2 mulit, not how a Nat Gut should be. I would avoid. I'm stuck with it, maybe I put some 5-10 pd weight on the stringbed for hours to loosen it up.

Prince natural gut to me plays more like the old VS, more power than wilson NG but i use in hybrid with poly crosses too help tame the power. Would dial up tension if used full bed.

Old VS Team was the best they ever made followed by current Wilson Natural Gut and Prince Natural Gut. Since we can't get the original VS Team anymore, I get which ever one is cheaper between Wilson and Prince since they both feel pretty good.

At 51 pds strung on my 4d 100 you would think the VS Team with BT7 with be half way not stiff. Well I think its worse than the 5 dollar Gamma Syn Gut the racquet came with. To ease the stiffness I put 19 pds of free weights, taking it on and off sometimes.
Pure junk. I give these idiots at Babolat a chance and have a hole in my wallet. ![]()

It's not just plain stiffness, IMHO.
original VS used to be crisp at low impact and surprisingly resilient at high impact. I used string VS(or Tonic) at very high tension(up to ~68 lb) on 18x20 string enjoying crisp control on touch shots but still could bring on beast-like power when I take large cut, exhibiting sweet ball pocketing characteristics. BT7 lost this dynamic nature, IMHO. |

I took the 71 dollar loss and cut the strings and will put in something else. Digusting how this bt7 tech ever was invented.
