Clothing brand w/Kangaroo?

What's the name of the garment line with the Kangaroo on it? Many of the Eastern Euro pros wear it, and it looks to be nice stuff. I've tried to Google it but no luck. Anyone know?

If you're referring to the stuff being sported at the Italian Open, it's an ITALIAN company called "Australian" or "L'Alpina Australian". Never sold in the USA, it's been worn on the backs of many pros since the '80s, including Jarryd and Ivanisevic. Back then, they were a small-batch competitor of Ellesse, Fila and Tacchini. Extremely high-end tenniswear, really nice quality, but pushed to the side once Nike and others started to put function before form. Judging from their mass-sponsorship at the Italian, looks like they may be rebirthing even there.

Absolutely, positively it's an Italian brand. No relation to Kangol, either.

Thankfully, even with the commercial globalization of Italy over the last 20 or so years, there are still some Italian goods one has to go there for to buy. This is a prime example, goods from a company that has never had any use for the US market. Find the right companion, use some miles, and head off to Rome, Milan, Florence, etc. Just about any good tennis/sport shop in those major cities will sell this brand, or some other good juju you'll see only there. What's best is that a few of those shops are still family-run shops, with deadstock Italian tennis merch just waiting to be pillaged.

They are called "Garanamals", and if you buy the shorts and shirts both with the kangaroo on it, you can be sure they will match.

Yes - Australian by L'Alpina is a Northern Italian high fashion (and $$$) tennis/ski wear manufacturer started in the 50's but first made prominent on the international tennis scene by Ivan Lendl around '79/'80. He was endorsed by L'Alpina for apparel and the Italian shoemaker Superga for shoes at this time. The web address is www.australian.it

La Fonte was another Italian brand very classy looking like the L'Apina co.

The Kangoroo brand uses the silhouette of a bounding Kangoroo/marsupial, is Australian(?) and was worn by Goran Ivanisevic during his heydey. People are confusing it with the urban streetwear brand Kangol which uses a standing Kangoroo/marsupial as part of it's logo. Samual L. Jackson often appears in public wearing a Kangol cap.

I think you are correct, if my memory serve correctly. Are they still exist? Did you see it recently. Most if Australian players wore it back in the 80's
