Default Ossatron for Plantar Fasciitis?

Is there anyone out there who has tried the shock wave treatment/Ossatron for plantar fasciitis? After 7 months of various treatments, I have been approved by my insurance for this and have it scheduled for later this month. My doctor reports 80% success rate with no risk of making the PF worse. Anyone have experience with this?

I had Ossatron treatment for tennis elbow about 1 month ago. I previously went through therapy, rest, steroid injections, accupunture.

So far I have not seen much improvement. My Last appointment was about two weeks ago and he said to give it two more weeks. I plan to call him today. Also I do not know about you but my insurance did not pay for this, so I shelled out $2,000.

My Dr. advised sometimes multiple procedures are necessary, However I do not think I would go through it again unless the price comes down significantly.

Good luck.

Ted-
Thanks for the reply. My insurance company has approved it so, given that the risk of making it worse is 0, I will probably go forward.

I've been through the tennis elbow thing, too. In my case, they finally did surgery and found a bone spur in an area that was continually causing tears/inflammation. No amount of rest, cortisone, etc. , etc. would ever have healed it. The good news is that after the surgery--full recovery with no pain.

Thanks again and good luck!

sportsfan10 - I feel like I may be going down the same road. I also have a bone spur, but it is on the back tip of my elbow, and my Dr said that would not be causing the problem.

sportsfan10:
I am dealing with tennis elbow also. I have a question for you.
Did you find out about the bone spur on the MRI, or just when you had the surgery.
