Default Anyone else being sent viruses today? 11.21.

I'm getting barraged w. viruses today. I am triple redundant so it's only a mild annoyance, but am wondering if anyone is experiencing something similar today. Obviously I am not opening these attachments or unzipping the files. These are emails with file attachments in zip format..probably 20 of them so far today. the zip files are entitled question_list.zip, list.zip, mail_body.zip, etc. Thanks.

Linux dual-boot user here (mostly Linux, Windows only for games), no viruses here though.

i feel norton and mcafee dont car too much for the internet as...panda cares for viruses in the incoming internet conexion with small windows that opens (like msn) at a corner saying "incoming virus detected and deleted, name of virus:....Date... etc etc" as norton i dont see that, the only way of getting viruses is through the intertnet so there you go...panda just got an ad.
"LAN virus bloked

Just get McAfee or Norton + a firewall + microsoft anti spyware, lavasoft ad aware, spybot search & destroy, + a disk defragmenter
and that's pretty much all you need to maintain your computer.
(oh and msconfig is useful too)

Never heard of Panda but wouldn't recommend Norton or McAfee anymore. Use Grissofts free AVG spyware on my wife's computer and no problems.

blah blah blah. Just a whole bunch of buzzwords.
Parental Control - useless
E-mail Anti Spam for Outlook - using outlook is just asking to get virii
protection against swindles - the only real protection against scams is common sense
security control to access internet - i don't udnerstand what you mean
firewall - many anti virus suites have firewalls and if they don't you can get a seperate one
protection against ___: of course they all protect against virii. Why do you think they are called 'virus scanners' or 'anti virus software'?
updates - of course every software has updates

Most anti virus suites include firewalls. If they don't, a firewall is easy to install and there are free ones. All the programs I listed work together perfectly. They are all free(excluding the anti virus suite/software of course). There is a good free firewall - zonealarm.

Second the zonealarm as a good FREE firewall which works better than Norton

Your ISP should be able to pick up viruses and such before they are sent to you and that is best. Mine does. In additon, I use CA's EZTrust (Computer Associates) which posters may stick their nose up about too, but it works quite well. Also have a firewall, and data backed up in two diff locations. I'm covered, and these virus attacks are nothing but a very minour annoyance, so the person sending them to me wasnt close to accomplishing their malicious intent. I have a good idea who is sending these and they can expect some very serious consequences one day soon.

i hv used norton since 2002 and that was work well for me until 2 years later my subscription expired and system status is urgent attention, i must to repay for the update the crap things instead to renew the identification the new viruses. that's the big company work, yes they have quality but they also gnaw at your money too.

i heard PANDA as a native animal from china. is the antivirus from china too?
