Default Agassi & Roddick as doubles partners?!

http://www.stellaartoistennis.com/po...04/311/MDD.pdf

I'm shocked but it's good to see that Andre is doing what he has to do to get good preparation for Wimbledon. He should be able to get awesome setups from Roddick's serve but Roddick's suspect volleys will hamper the team as well. Not too say that Agassi has Federer volleys at the net.
Should be interesting how they will fare in the tourney.

omg, they are gonna destroy the field. Huge returns, huge serves, you can't beat that, especially with roddick and agassi perched on top of the net and not having to come in. Only way I see them losing, is if they default in the second round or something and concentrate on the singles.

Will this tempt Federer to team up with Tim to deliver a perfect riposte to the "Slugger" team?

Perhaps a way for Andre to get some coaching from Brad Gilbert?

Is this a prelim for the Olympics? Roddick says he wants to play doubles and Agassi wants another gold medal.

After watching some of the televised doubles final, I'd say that Malisse and Rochus have a good chance at a medal as well.

Does anyone remember when Philippoussis and Ivanisevic teamed up? That was crazy.

Yeah, right. Which cave have you been sleeping in these past 25 years or so?

Not sure why two of the poorest volleyers in pro tennis, at least among the top 50, would be TEAMING UP. They'll be eaten alive by "doubles specialists" and the like.

i believe that philippoussis is teaming up with hewitt as well. agassi and roddick arent exactly the best net players out there.

Someone should tell singles specialists Xavier Malisse and Oliver Rochus that they don't have a shot at a major title.

Ya just never know.

But I think it's good that Andre and Andy are teaming up. Just too bad we won't see it on TV.

This is an excellent doubles draw all the way through. Many up and comers teaming with fellow veteran countrymen.

Ancic/Ivanisevic
Schrichapan/Humphries
Hewitt/Philippoussis
Gasquet/Grosjean

I think Rod and Agassi should get through Merklein/Ginepri. Agassi should be able to attack Merklein's serve, and Roddick should serve it up as usual. However, Goran/Ancic will be attacking big time, not much of a defensive mindset between these two. The lefty righty combo makes for a tough team on top of their big serving. I wonder if we will be lucky enough to get to see some of the doubles action.

I can picture the conversations going on between each guy and his coach.

Andre: I need more match play before the big W, but there's no time.

Cahill: Play some doubles, then.

ARod: I got smoked at the French, and I need to learn to volley in 2 weeks.

Gilbert: Play some doubles, why doncha?

Both players: Good idea, but with who?

Both coaches: I know just the guy...

Ginepri is on the team they're playing against in the first round ...

You'd think ESPN would find a way to broadcast this match, with all the Americans participating and all :P

I don't think it'll work as well as it should. Neither of these guys can hit tough volleys routinely. It shouldn't hurt their singles though.
