Default Viewer in Hong Kong get united!!!

I know it's the wrong forum to post, but since it got the most traffic here, I guess more relevant people can see this

I am from Hong Kong and actively looking for partners to play tennis. I rarely play in public court nor a tennis club since I have my own court at where I live, therefore I don't meet too many people on tennis court.

I have one regualr partner for about a year (meaning I haven't play any double in almost a year), the partner is not as good as me and seem I am giving him lesson every time we play. I am not improving by play against him and think potentially I will be less competitive than I think by beating him 10 out 10 times.

So any local ppl on this board want to have a hitting session are welcomed to drop me a note. I have no idea what rating I am. but as a reference, I was once in the tennis team of my high school in the first league.

Your own court in Hong Kong? Wow. Too bad I do not live in Hong Kong. If I do, I will camp out on your court everyday. Do you have a ball machine? If you do not have one, you may want to think about it.

I wish I have your problems, have my own court and could not find a hitting partner that are better than me. Good luck.

So why don't you, ahhhh...visit the local public courts or tennis clubs where there are many players, some probably looking for a game or regular partners? Perhaps this thought is a bit too obvious for you?

Fung, if you are really serious about tennis, you should join tennis clubs so you have the chance of practicing and matching with different style of players. It is more important that through these contact you can ask for their advice on your form (sometimes maybe too much and personal flavour added though) which helps improve your technique greatly. Watch out when picking tennis clubs as some do not have too many court time for all their members.

I am in HK too. Few people here have their own courts but quite a few residential estates have tennis-courts.

What you could try is the SCAA at Jordan on Saturdays and Sundays.

I would be happy to play with you as well but I am in the Gold Coast/Tuen Mun area.

let me clarify one point, I don't want ppl here think I am a rich-ass

what I mean I have my own court is that I have a court at where I live. It's NOT my OWM PROPERTY!!!

Not too many ppl play tennis in my apartment, so virtually I can use it anytime I would like to. The convenince make me lazy to travel around and seek new partners. Talking about inertia in playing tennis

Calvin, sure, actually I live only 20 min away from you in Sham Tsang. Let's meet up sometime and have a hit.

By the way, Gold coast is a great place to live and visit

Quite a few large private residential developments around HK such as Belcher Gardens and Kornhill hv a few on site tennis courts (hard courts). My favorite courts were at the HK Jockey Club , the seven courts had syn. grass surface and were well maintained and easy on the legs and feet.
BTW I heard there is now a HK tennis club group that plays on tues. afternoons at HK tennis centre Wong Nei Chung Rd (drop ins r welcome). There is also now a HK tennis web site http://www.hktennisclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1.

Yeah, Gold Coast is great for tennis. With phase 1 and phase 2 combined we have 7 courts. And there are quite a few players out here. On Sunday mornings from 8:00 - 12:00 there is always a group of people playing on the 3 courts on top of the club-house and everybody can join in.

Give me a call if you want to play: 91270279

I'll be visiting HK in mid June. I've been in grad school so my game has fallen off a bit. But, I can keep the ball in the court and have even been seen hitting winners from time to time. Send me an email if you want to play.

OK, so had a nice game last night with hlkimfung. Sweet backhand!

Since there are quite a few people interested in playing maybe it's easier to keep in touch by email. Here's mine: cliao@opinionresearch.com.hk

Since Gold Coast is right in the middle of Tuen Mun and Shen Teng it wouldn't be a bad place to meet (and easy for me!).

Talk to you later.

Thanks for playing last night . You too have such a good game and a good mix of pop and spin. And your court is sooo much faster than the other where I have to increase my speed by 20% just to keep up with you. Good way to pratice by the way. now I can kick ppl's *** on my court.....

Hello HKU Kim

You play for high school as well? Me too!! which school you play for? I used to play for La Salle and it sucks! lol

sure let's meet up and have a hit, I'll call you later this week
