Aww sh*t. This is ridiculous. She was already gettin her butt whipped, now she's got an upset stomach. I'm annoyed. Dang it, she retired.

This sucks but I'll give JHH the benefit of the doubt. She's one of the fiercest competitors in tennis ever and I bet this this is very hard on her.

Congrats to Mauresmo!

Poor Amelie - her first GS title and she wins when her semi and her final opponents have to retire!

she doesn't look so sick sitting there in the chair that she couldn't have
played out the match. makes you wonder where her pride is.

The only woman I enjoyed watching was JHH, but her quitting because "Oh my stomach hurts" is ridiculous. SHe was getting pounded so she decides to quit cuz she doesnt want to see 1-6 0-6 beside her name.

JHH is a little crybaby and I cant be a fan of hers anymore.

Wow.... somebody up there really wants to make sure that Mauresmo won a Slam. Krajicek, Clijsters, and now... JHH?

Clearly a Slam for the last person standing.

But, really. Not to take anything away from Mauresmo. But I have a feeling that she too would have wanted a clear win, not a default.

Sheesh. Couldn't have happened at another Open venue I guess. Only in australia...

If she feels as sick as she does, how is she able to stand at the podium and remain on stage. Why isn't she puking her guts out back stage. How is she able to stand on her feet and remain vertical. Yes, this is disappointing. Despite how it will be spun, Mauresmo earned this win over Henin, who was getting her butt kicked all over that court tonight, stomach bug or no stomach bug.

That's a shame to see Mauresmo win her first GS title like this. Best of luck to Justine. Hopefully she can win the FO.

Stop comparing Clijsters to Henin. Kim tore her ankle apart. Henin was getting pounded so the brat bowed out with a lame *** excuse...
