Is sort of strange, he skips the AO and the week after he competes in a small tournament and loses to a qualifier. Guest you need to ask Agassi.

I wouldn't make too much of his loss at Delray. He's just coming back and it takes time to be consitent night after night. Plus the body has to adjust to playing at that intensity, especially when you reach your mid-30s.

Think about it, Agassi could be playing the Senior Tour right now. How ugly would that be? Nobody would take a game off him.

You must be deluded, barry. Why do people have such hateful feelings towards people they don't even know? I watched the entire match and could tell something was obviously wrong. He was hesitant to run and he missed pretty much every single backhand return. This is Andre friggin' Agassi, when he gets his racquet on the return he never misses. I guess he purposely lost the match to a guy that had never previously taken a set off him so that he didn't have to play, then he dropped out of the Australian Open because he didn't have the guts to play in a depleted field in his best Grand Slam.

Like I said ask Agassi, don't ask me why he skipped the AO and played a small tournament. I watched the match too, and I saw him running around and playing his usual game, Davydenko was just better and Agassi lost it and quit.
2nd time he has done this, kind of says it all. Guess it is the only place he ever gets injuried.

not that I agree one way or the other, but I can absolutely understand why Agassi would skip the AO and played a small tournament a week later.

First, it wasn't a week, considering the preparation time for the AO and the 2 weeks during the AO, it is more than 1 month of lead time.

Plus, even assuming Agassi was about 80% healthy before AO, he might not want to work so hard and risking the injury again just to get to the 2nd or 3rd round of AO and then lose at the beginning of the second week due to not being 100% to begin with.

The season is 10-11 month long and AO is in January. It is totally understandable that taking care of his health issue is in his best interest. Playing the small tournament was just simply a better channel to test how fit he was at the time, rather than in a Grand Slam.

That's just laughable. No other athlete in the world is as generous and philanthropic as he is. "You" don't believe he was injured"? Are you an orthopaedic surgeon? Did you see the x-rays? Do you honestly believe that he'd miss his favourite Slam if he wasn't injured? BTW - a "heel" is the back part of your foot. I think you mean "heal".
I watched the match again and the first set was 6-4 Davydenko. At 2 all in the 2nd set Agassi was up 40-15 and got ripped off on an ace. He got frustrated, and started grabbing his shoulder. After that he quit playing.
His court movement was the same in both sets, just could not serve. So if it was a foot injury, it never was visible during the match. If anything he could have claimed a shoulder problem which would have been believable.
So many injuries, he should retire.

Maybe he didn't claim it was his shoulder, because it wasn't his shoulder that was bothering him. Maybe you can't seem to grasp the idea that he wasn't faking - that it was his ankle that was injured - as he has stated all along. And you contradict yourself - in one sentence you're inferring that he was faking an injury and in the next your saying he should retire because he has so many injuries. Make up your mind. And I'm sure that Andre's just been breathlessly waiting for your opinion on his life, in order to make his next move.

He should retire from the tour, not contradicting anything. Maybe you should go back and watch the match, 2-2 in the 2nd set, see for yourself. Did you even watch the match?
Even Mac said it does not look good, Agasii was grabbing his shoulder!
Can't believe he pulled out with a foot injury, he faked it! and quit the tournament! Took his toys and went home for the exhibition match with Roddick 3 week later.

Yes, I did see the match. I did not tape it, so I can't review it.

But, fine, whatever, of course, if it makes you happy, you're right. He made up the whole thing. All he wanted was the money. He stashed it away with all his other millions while chuckling about how he "fooled" everyone - except you, of course.

How sad to live with such a negative opinion of people you don't even know.

How sad someone like you believe all the hype about a player you don't even know!

I don't believe in "hype". I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. I believe in live and let live - even famous people. I believe in trying to look on the positive instead of the negative. I believe in the Golden Rule.
