But I'm so happy he won today. He worked hard over the weekend, and it was great to see him pull out the win. |

McEnroe fastest serve of the match was 119 mph, and there were no breaks against his serve and he even had two games where no point was even scored against his serve.

Article on ATPtennis.com said Mac dug out of 15-40 once and 0-40 later.
Great win against #2 seeds. He and Jonas might even win another match or two. |

Roddick dropped the second set against Kenneth Carlsen (1-6) but went on to win the match anyway.
BTW Carlsen was wearing a pink Lotto shirt, like Hrbaty's. I don't know if they had the holes in the back. |

Roddick's playing Phau right now, and he's actually looking like a confident baseliner again. Granted, his opponent is probably helping his confidence. But Roddick is actually hitting his backhand better--the slices are sticking, the topspin shots are deeper or hit at better angles, and the returns are hit with more authority.
Looks like he'll play MUrray tomorrow--looking forward to that one. |

Andy Murray vs. Andy Roddick head-to-head:
0-0 This will be their first career meeting. I don't know about you, but if Roddick can lose a set to Kenneth Carlsen and go out in the first round of the US Open to Gilles Muller, the unknown quantity Murray may legitimately pose a threat to him. Hopefully Roddick can make some forcing plays against Murray and take charge of their match; today's match with Phau he just was content to rally. |
