Default Twisting

I'm having a lot of trouble with my last few crosses twisting. It's especially problematic with gut as the twist turns into a pretty wicked kink if I'm not careful. How do you prevent the twists?

The problem is even worse when stringing gut on a wood racket. The only thing I've found that works is to pull the cross all the way through. You have to be very careful down toward the last few crosses, but I've not had any trouble with graphite frames, only on the wood rackets. They have 20-22 crosses.

If you weave up the stringbed half way across and then pull some more string through and then weave toward the target grommet hole, it puts an extra twist in the string. Try to weave all the way across in one pass. Thun pull all of the string through toward the top of the string bed at a sharp angle and then pull it through the grommet(don't use the fan, pull, fan, pull technique).
