I got to IW for Sunday's action. The lines were crazy: an hour to get from I-10 to the parking lot and then another half-hour to wait to buy tickets. The people in front of us gave up waiting and asked my (tres cute) seven-year old "Who do you belong to?" -- and then gave us their stubs from Saturday's night rainout, good for grounds passes for Sunday action. Nice!
(If you're reading this, THANKS, DUDE!) So -- we went in on the grounds pass, no stadium action. But here's a few photos: Haas v. Clement, Andreev v. Tursunov, Baghdatis v. Bjorkman, Gonzalez v. Soderling. Here's the link: Try the link here More coming from the next two days, I hope! |

Wow, could she crack a forehand, though. Must not hurt her much on that side, anyway! And I'm back home in Wisconsin, just in time for another snowstorm.... |

The camera is new: a Fuji FinePix S5200, which has a 10x optical zoom. (It was discounted pretty deeply on Amazon, with a $50 rebate and a free memory card.) I like the camera -- it has a nice three-shot-in-a-row feature which I used a lot. I also used a monopod for most of these, but the cmaera does not have image stabilization, which is available for about another $100 and might be worth it for this kind of shooting. I bet I shot 500 images there, so these are the best of a large bunch.
At Indian Wells, you can sit about as close as you want on Stadium 2 and 3 and the other side courts. A few of these (Sanguinetti, Mirza, Blake and his brother) are from the practice courts, where you can practically stand right next to the players. Elena Dementieva smiled at me as she walked by, and I'd have taken a picture of her, too, had I been conscious at the time. All reasons to like this tourney a lot! |

Nice pics! Thanks for posting. Wish I had your camera when I was there, mine has practically no zoom.
