Harkleroad was up a break in the first set to Jackson but lost the first set, was up a break in the second set and had to fight back from losing it but came through the tiebreak, then had 5-2 in the 3rd set and choked the match away!!! Talk about not being able to close out a match! If I were her, I would not be able to live with myself. She should have won the match in straight sets. This is equal to the choking I have seen by Mardy Fish and worse than Myskina at the Olympics. She should not have made this comeback since she obviously can't handle the pressure.

Probably still recovering from the biggest meltdown in tennis history- Coria to Gaudio in the Roland Garros final. Before I could begin to recover from that pathetic ATP match, I had to endure Mardy Fish choking to Massu, a player he used to bitc h slap. Then there have been so many chokes by Robredo, Moya, Ginepri over the past year...what can I say, ATP in a nutshell.

I read that Harkleroad used the video replay system to question a line call today, the first in pro tennis history.

So that was 2004...right? Choking and spraying errors left and right and having a huge meltdown is basically a daily occurence on the WTA, sonny boy. Have a gander at the hard number, pardna', winners to unforced errors on average between the 2 tours. Burned!

I like the ATP more but the only problem is on the mens side you already know Federer is going to win the Nasdaq Open. They midus well just give Federer the trophy now. On the WTA, the field is wide open and unpredictable.

WTA matches are very unpredictable, you can never predict which players will hit 50 unforced errors to lose a match.

Actually you didn't. You are always saying how much more exciting the WTA is, I'm just curious as to how you find choking away matches with 50+ unforced errors is exciting. Also I don't know why I would pick a fight with you, who would obviously best me with your superior intellect. Sonny.

This was an exciting match-up. Jamea is a rapidly improving young player, while Harkleroad is kind of like a 'comeback' girl. We know that Harkleroad is capable of doing well. I remember when she took out Hantuchova 6-2,6-1, then she took out Shaughnessy 6-2,6-2, and Bovina 6-2,6-2 all at the Family Circle Cup in 2003. I thought Ashley would probably prevail due to her experience, but I knew it would be close because Jamea is a fighter. I've met Jamea before, twice, she is a nice person! Anyway, this has to hurt Ashley's confidence....losing to a younger American since Ashley used to be Miss USTA Junior Champ....
