Default Prestige Tour 600 vs. Prestige Classic 600

Hello,

So I go the store as indicated by the coach and once I get there, I find about 2 other different types of Prestige Classics:

I found:

1. Prestige Classic 600 (it says Mid at the 12 o'clock position)

2. Prestige Classic (without the 600) (it says 600 cm2 at the 12 o'oclock position)

Both have light brown leather grips that reads "Finest Calfskin" or something like that in golden letters.

No suspension grips on either.

Hologram buttcap on both.

I felt so confused...but fascinated and despite my recent acquisition of the Prestige Tour 600....I bought a Prestige Classic 600 ! The price was 110 USD.

I also thought about buying the Prestige Classic (with the 600 written on the side) but I couldn't find my gripsize (grip 4).

When I got back home, I tried to compare between the Tour 600 and the Classic 600 and I had a feeling the Classic 600 was slightly better. The Tour 600 seems more headlight though. But I need to hit with the Classic 600 to judge.

Anyways, what do you guys think ?

Can please anybody compare the Prestige Tour 600 with SG with the Prestige Classic 600 ?

What about the Prestige Classic (without the 600) ?

Thank you.

Another quick note:

On the Prestige Classic (without the 600), it actually reads "Made in Austria" on the throat handle as opposed to "Designed in Austria" in the other 2 models.

tandayu,

Can you let everyone know? I'm curious myself, and have searched the threads and still am a bit confused.

Thanks.

There is variance on the playability, feel, and weight of the frames. The early prestige tour 600 (the 600 has gold color) and prestige tour 300 trisys system are heavier and feel more solid/hefty on impact. Some of the later "designed in Austria" (not all) are lighter in weight and also has different feel on impact.

Another note,

Both Prestige Classic 600 and Prestige Classic (without the 600) came pre-strung with what I could read was "Head Comfort Zone 16".

Any clues as to what this string is ?

Hello,

Just a couple of hours ago, I played for about 1 1/2 hours with both racquets (Prestige Tour 600 with SG and Prestige Classic 600).

Prestige Tour 600 with SG is strung with Head FXP 16 at 23/22 Kg.
Prestige Classic 600 is strung with Head Comfort Zone 16 at unknown tension but lower range I would guess.

My conclusions are the following:

The Prestige Tour 600 with SG feels much much much more dampened
The sweetspot on the Tour is sweeter
The Tour feels heavier
The Prestige Classic 600 transmits the feeling of hitting the ball without any dampening. I really liked this feeling. It felt a bit harsh on off-center hits but it was ok with me.

I ended up playing mostly with the Prestige Classic 600 even though it has strings that I have never heard of and that feel pretty cheap.

I hope to build a more in-depth opinion in my next hitting session (thursday that is).

Does it the Prestige Tour use the palles likethe Prestige Classic? Personally, at this point, I'd prefer the Prestige Tour over the Classic for reasons of my arm, but to buy used Prestige Tours I'd need to be able to swap the grip sizes out like you can with the Prestige Classic.

Thanks

Hard to take off on the Prestige tour, and if you able to take it off, most likely it will break apart. It might break your fingers also at the same time.

Another thing on prestige tour, the actual grip size feel larger and rounder than the PC600 for same grip size.

Hello,

My Prestige Tour is grip size 3 and the prestige classic is grip size 4.

Yesterday, I noticed a blister on the base of the ring finger of my right hand and there was a callous as well.

So I experimented a bit with overgrips to see what I'd get.

At the end of my experiments, I ended up with:

1. Prestige Tour grip size 3 with 2 Wilson Pro Overgrips and 1 Tourna grip. I added a total of 3 overgrips.

2. Prestige Classic size 4 with 2 Wilson Pro Overgrips.

I found out that I really enjoyed the larger grip sizes....
