Highest I know of is Thomas Muster at the Australian Open a few years back with a shocking 44/43kg with IsoSpeed Pro 1.25mm. Lowest?......few clay court guys on tour currently in 18kg range with polys. Pretty sure Chang did some pretty low tensions at Wimbledon a few years back too.

Just times it by 2.2 PCMD..
I know James Blake was up at 68lbs in Sydney.. Mark P. Strings up around the 33.5kg (around 73lbs) mark. Lisa Raymond was stringing at 69lbs too. as for LOW, i can remember doing Galo Blanco at like LOW 20's, cant remember exactly what it was.. it was with 1.38 BB original too.. nasty stuff |

20 pounds? WOW, amazing. Sampras was like 72 lbs right? Isn't Haas way up there too?

Pete would always change tensions and gauges depending on weather, court speed, surface, etc......but would usually be above 31kg (other than at Wimbledon). Haas also likes a tight frame, from the low to mid/high 30kg mark. Another one is Seles, who likes her strings first prestretched, then each double pulled near 38kg.

You also must consider the stiffness of the string and head size of her racquet....

My arm hurts just thinking about hitting a ball with a racquet strung at 75!

Sampras and Muster's frames are crazy.
Has anyone ever tried to copy their balances and tensions for fun? |

I tried 68lbs 16g NRG in a 95 si. frame once and knew it was too high after hitting the very first ball. It was the first and last time I was ever fearful about My health on a tennis court.
