Nobody on that list.

I normally don't take pleasure in the defeat of others, but I must admit I don't care for Jennifer Capriatti.

Serena, not because i don't like her or anything, but she is so arrogant and gives no credit to her opponents. She can't even properly judge whether she is playing good or badly. She feels like when she is losing it is only because she palyed terrible.

I'd rather focus on the winner than the loser. I like to see someone wins than someone loses.

I'm torn between Venus and Serena, and no racism involved either.

I have to go with Serena, as noted in another thread at least Venus is showing signs acting like a good sport. Amazing that Serena can still come across as arrogant in a day and age when everything is handled and managed by agents/advisors/coaches etc....

End of story. But why isn't Jen Cap on there?

Normally I wouldn't wish anyone to lose. Now I have to agree with most posters here that I wish Serena to lose. She admitted she didn't watch Venus vs Sprem match. But she came out to criticize Sprem for taking that point the empire awarded to Sprem. I understand on paper it sounds bad for taking a point. However, with the way it happened, I don't think anyone reasonable can blame Sprem for what happened. I'd talk publicly about it only after watching it at least on tape if I were Serena.

Talking about Sprem, I remember 3 or 4 years ago, someone interviewed Hingis who was asked about who was the most promising young player coming up. Hingis said Sprem. I never watched her play until yesterday. She is quite impressive with her power, techinique, and movement. She might get confused if you can mix different paces, and spins against her. She is a banger, and is very good at it.

Serena ... leaving room for the possibility for unconscious racism (looking for faults, holding her to a higher standard). Then again ... when is it ever conscious? Even white supremacists won't admit to it. ("We have nothing against those people. We just don't want to live with them.")

Serena currently. When she still played, I enjoyed watching Conchita Martinez getting thrashed. Never cared for Monica Seles either with her unorthodox style and grunting... of course for some years, Seles was quite invincible so I rarely got the pleasure...

id have to say J cap because i just think she is a terrible person she is very rude in particular if she loses to someone she really doesnt say like ohh they played a great match instead she says something like, she was pushing the ball back. get a reality check and while your at it lose some weight.

Hands Down: Jennifer Capriati. I would root for any player against her.

I like the term subconscious racism Joe because I reserve unconscious for the state of some of the posters here....

Of course a thoughtful person can always wonder if they have subconscious motivations which by definition they cannot judge about themselves...but for me considering I can't think of another black player I've disliked (Rubin, Blake, Noah, Campbell, Washington, Shelton, Ashe, Gibson ETC) and considering I can name other white players I disklike for perceived arrogance...my conscience is clear.

Actually I take that back....Mal Washington I enjoyed as a player... Washington the commentator makes me clench my fists and grit my teeth while my mind desperately retreats to a happy place.

John Thomas, I make it my policy to never argue with a wise man who completely agrees

Hehe, I love this post. Jennifer Capriati. No comparison, and this is from a person that turns off the TV during Williams matches. Capriati doesn't have a fun game to watch, she seems uneducated, annoying, and uncouth off (and on) the court, and since I am a guy, her unattractiveness isn't helping her out either. Also, I'm never a fan of people that seem to have wasted much of their amazing ability.
