Duzza
Prices here are high due to duty taxes. Same is true for computers and many autos, cameras, etc.
Buy at home and bring it with you.
Cheers

Ericsson,

Went to FBT today and found out that there don't seem be any stock of the C10 Pro 98 in the country.

However, I ran into a regular customer of FBT who has a "good condition, strung once" C10 Pro 98 (per his words) that the pallet has already been changed to 4 1/2. The guy said he stopped using the C10 for sometime and is now using the DNX9.

I have his number. Would you be interested? Please let me know.

Best wishes of the season to you all!

Ericsson, I forgot to let you know the price. He's asking for THB 3,000.

Hi Anirut, I'm in Koh Samui right now and we're planning a one day visit in bangkok (last day) for some shopping (mainly my tennis stuff..). Could you tell us the address to Siam Pa-ra-gon and/ or Central Chidlom? Also, you wouldnt happen to know if they are close to the national airport?

Hi Janne,

In case Anirut hasn't seen this email. From my experience, Central Chidlom and Siam Para-gon are in the middle of the city, which is about 45 minutes by taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport, provided there isn't a jam. It could take up to 90 minutes if there is one.

Hi Janne & Jon,

I just got back from dinner.

Janne, you can just tell the taxi to the places. The only thing is, yes, as Jon said, the places are quite far from the airport and can take a lot of time.

Could you please be a little specific about what you'd like to have and how much time, precisely, you will have in order to get your stuff. I'll see if I can plan something, like your shopping routes.

I plan to call him up tomorrow. Waiting for things to settle a little after the holidays. I don't think he'll have a pic but I'll ask to see the racket and take some pics for you.

Thanks Jonolau and Anirut,

I think I'll be in BKK from around 12am - 12pm or something like that. The plane leaves around 1:30 I think. I'm only interested in buying some tennis clothing and possibly some small things like overgrips etc. We'll probably just go there, buy me some tennis items, walk around a bit and see if we find something else and then just chill until we go to the airport and head back home to Sweden, so there's really no big plans.

PS: There were some bombs that exploded in BKK and other places in Thailand. I hope none of you or your friends/family got involved!

@Janne, sorry to get back so slow. Hope you haven't left yet.

You said 12AM-12PM? Do you mean noon till midnight? Or midnight till noon? Sorry to ask this as I've come across a lot people who are confused with proper writing of time. (In this case, it'd be best to mention as 00:00 - 12:00 or whatever appropriate.)

OK, I'll take it that you'll have time from 12:00 - 00:00 because flights to Europe from BKK will leave at night. In this case, you can start off with FBT on Ramhamhaeng Road, spend your time till about 16:00 then get deeper into town to the the Siam P a ragon and Central Chidlom. These last two places are not too far away. They're about 15 minutes on foot. From FBT to either of these two places can take you about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. You can spend time till about 21:30 around the area before heading back to the airport.

Hope you had a good stay!

Anirut and Jonolau,

Thanks for all your help! Yes, you are right, I meant 12:00 - 00:00. We've decided to go to Siam ******* and Central Chidlom and leave FBT out, since it's such a long way from there and I've read the earlier posts and know that I'll find some Adidas or Nike clothing and what-not in SP and CC.

If any of you happen to visit Hong Kong, let me know. I found prices here are much cheaper than anywhere else that I had visited. I was in BKK last year and found prices to be quite high, and I went to FBT, Siam P-aragon, Central Chidlom, ...
There are also a lot of very good condition second hand racquets here selling for such great prices (private sale of coz), I usually get my stuff from w w w. h k t e n n i s c l u b . c o m, click english version on the top left corner and go to 'forum', then find 'buy and sell' section. Remember USD$1 to HKD$7.8 conversion.
Don't worry about the authenticity of the used products from the site coz hk is a small place and it's easy for buyer and seller to bump into each other in the courts, so selling fake stuff means bad reputation and words spread quicker than you can imagine.
The drawback is trade is done face-to-face, so no mail order.
