Default (4)I Ljubicic (CRO) vs (12)F Gonzalez (CHI)

As this is my first post, I'd like to say hello to everyone on this board.

I think that Luby will win 2-1... again.

You know, lots of people recognize him as a allcourter with strong serve (which he is), and consequently, as a guy who's not so strong on clay as indoors or hardcourts. But, like Goran and Mario, he grew up on claycourts, and in one of his interviews during DC vs Austria said that clay is his best surface.

I'm looking forward to Ljubicic vs Federer semis. Revenge...

P.S. Wtf? He is 4th seed, 5th on entry, 2nd on race list, and there's no post-match interviews on MC masters web page and no news about Ljubicic's matches.

welcome here

interesting match indeed : ljubicic seems to have made a good transition from hard court to clay, and gonzalez seemed to play good against moya in the 1st round.
i expect a close match... but i don't manage to give a winner !

Ah finally the number of Croatians has grown up to the mighty 4 (or 3 active..). Welcome!

From the beginning this draw was a great chance for Ljubo to do well in a claycourt tourney. So far he has done well. Gonzalez is the only real claycourter he'll bump into. But he can win, but probably not in straight sets.

Although, let's be real...in semis Ljubo hasn't got a chance on Fed like he does on hard/indoors. Fed is a better claycourter than Ljubicic.

I have to go with Gonzalez in straights, more like 7-5; 6-4.

Well, it's not that Ivan hasn't earned it.

Ljubo breaks, and then barely holds. His 1st serve % is awfull till now.

4-1, and bp for 5-1...

Gotta love those commentators on sport+direct... "Luby-chick"

1st serve at 41% - disastrous. It's like Coria is back on the court again. Come on, Luby-chick!

I think Gonzo will win in straight sets. He is the favorite. Gonzo (-111) vs. Ivan (+161).

Oh man, the first set is lost.

He really needs to do something about his serve asap!

That injury looks pretty bad. Looks like someone hit him on the toe with a sledge hammer.

Maybe he should lube it :P

No, seriously, it's obvious something is bothering him... Maybe the sun, or his toe, which is the reason for injury time-out...

Man... first time I predict something here, and it looks like I'll be wrong.

What toe injury is that? I didn't know he was injured.

I'm following this match on livescores.

Gonzalez beats Luby, 7-5, 6-1, Roger vs Fernando, they met last year in the round of 16, Fed won but it took 3 sets.
