If Fed is the nicest guy on tour than Goran Ivanisevic must be an angel.
The way he acted during the awards ceremony reminded me of a kid who was just told he can't have anymore candy before dinner time. To me, it seems like everytime Nadal and Fed play, Nadal plays with more heart and sweat, that's why I think Nad deserves the match more than Fed. |

I can hardly wait for the DVD I'm getting from eba* to see the awards ceremony!
And big congrats to Romano the umpire who stuck to his guns and didn't give in to Federer's complaints (grasping at straws?) (I did see Romano suck up big time to Roddick during a screaming match with Lapentti...(Nico complained about Andy's cramping...he was into dramatics then). Good job ROMANO. |

No, I wouldn't consider Federer not nice.
But some Federer's remarks on matches with nadal sound anxious and edgy sometimes. Sometimes he even sounded like he is intentionally intimidating Nadal a bit with a message "I'm going to get you soon". Overally, Federer has this punishing style toward his opponents. I mean with his tennis, not his words.

wow...some people just look for the littlest things...imagine you were out there playing nadal...and he is hitting his CRAZY topspin which dips very fast and with a lot of speed...i think there is some room for error on which mark was which considering how much his balls moves...grow up

Iteresting watching the Blake/Ancic match...Blake did the same thing in the third set...calling the umpire to check many marks. Grasping at straws.

Read threads like these, with some of these inane posts, and you forget that presumably we all love tennis. |

Fed should have stopped play and had the mark checked. It looked out to me. What a pity that such an important match ended with a bad call. Tsk, tsk...

This is the true fed a little wimpy baby, everything is great when he is winning. But when he gets beat the true colors show up.
Like last year in the fo when nadal was kicking his *** all over the court,he starts crying about it being to dark. What a baby+poor loser he is!

I watched this point many times in slow motion. The umpire pointed in some ridiculous direction that was nowhere near where the ball landed. He pointed somewhere next to the alley. Federer pointed to the correct mark, and I think shot spot was wrong - the ball definitely looked like it caught the outside of the line, not the inside. The mark Federer pointed to did catch a little bit of the line. He was just upset in the heat of the match that he got pushed back by such a deep ball that was almost out, but not quite.

The umpire didn't even see where the ball landed. He had no clue. Fed pointed to the RIGHT mark and then the umpire was right in pointing out that even that mark was in.
From what I saw in slow-mo, the ball clipped the outside of the line. Shotspot showed it clipping the inside of the line. Doesn't matter anyway, Fed still won the point and lost the match. I'm just saying that he was not cheating by pointing at that mark. He was just hoping for a break, since that ball was very close. |
