Let's just sit back and enjoy this historic moment in tennis history when perhaps two of the greatest tennis players have collided for an amazing rivarly.
I don't think Nadal is going to end up as one of the best tennis players in history at least not in the way Federer, Sampras, and Laver, and Mccenroe are going to be. Federer could become the greatest of all time, Nadal could became the greatest clay court player of all time, but he won't reach the level of a Federer or Sampras or Borg in all honesty!

Nadal will never be considered one of the greatest. The true test of dimensionality is how a player would do with a wooden racquet. Federer has an all-court game so he could probably figure out a way with a wooden racquet, Agassi would be like Borg with a wooden racquet, Sampras pretty much played with a wooden board...and then look at Nadal. He'd be absolutely useless without his trusty Babolat. I think he'll go down as one of the best claycourters ever, but definitely will never crack the GOAT list. Unless he starts winning Slams other than the French.

Not to hijack this thread but - I was watching the match again last night and at one point (I think towards the end of the match) Nadal applied stencil ink to the strings before heading out on court to hit with the racquet. Why would he do that? Does he have some kind of contract/clause w/ Babolat that their logo will always be on the strings? Is hit a ritual for him or something?

Nadal will never be considered one of the greatest? We already know that even though he is only 19+just getting started?Sounds like somebody should be playing the market,if they can predict the future like that.

I had no idea that you judge how good a player is by how good they would play with a wooden racquet. And without seeing them play with one you know who could+who couldnt. Were do you come up with this BS.

Weak excuses are one thing but some of this **** is unreal, like someone stated woulda coulda shoulda!

Learn to speak, learn to write, learn to think properly, and maybe people will listen to you.

Hey superman,i believe it would be hard to learn to think the way you do.Let me see the audience thought he had won the match+ gave him applause. So what in the hell does that mean he really won.

The umpire + shot spot were wrong on the debated call because you + fed saw the ball was out.

Nadal would be nothing without his babolat racquet+ he couldnt play with a wood racquet. Were do you learn to think like this?Is there a special school somewhere?
