Default My serve, part two.

Some of you might remember my quest for a new serve last year. Well, finally the indoor season is over and I've hit the outdoor clay courts again and have started taking clips of it and working on my serve a bit more. Anyway, here's my current one:

http://www.grebo.net/~peter/serve/peter/12.mpg

(Actually, that one was taped *after* a 3.5 hour long match in windy conditions and I actually netted all four of those serves. Not the best I can do - rather far from it...)

Hey mate, that doesnt matter at all. Even when tired your serve will still have the same fundamental basics so everyone can see them.!!

it's really hard to analyze a stroke when the video is sideways.

Yeah, well... Basically it's the same. But I threw the ball (or should I say it blew?) a bit too much over my head and not as much in front as I had wanted it to. I didn't get near as much speed on it as I have been able to (indoors - much easier to serve there though).

Yeah. I told the buddy of mine that shot that clip that it wasn't a good idea so he fixed that later on. Unfortunately *that* clip is much larger so he hasn't been able to send it to me yet

Yeah...

It's frustrating serving outdoors - especially in the beginning of the season
(like - now).

Btw, for those of you that hasn't seen my original serve - here it is...

http://www.grebo.net/~peter/serve/peter/1.mov

*Burr*. How on Earth could I serve like that???

Back to my new serve - I think I'm getting the knee bend right now atleast. Hmm.. Looking at that clip - perhaps I should focus a bit on trying to get more trunk action? Looks kind of static.

Try to get a real racquet drop by making the racquet parallel to the body at its lowest point. Get this done first, then go to more pronation.

Just snapped a couple new serve clips for those of you following my quest for a good serve :-)

I'm actually a bit disatisfied with the serves above. I felt totally off when I hit them (I served really well last Tuesday though - but then - no camera :-)

Btw, here's a still image of me "serving":

Can you "spot the error"?
