Default FCC To Monitor Message Boards On The Net

Commissioner Powell and the FCC in the aftermath of the "Super Bowl half time show" are considering ways to punish sites and broadcasters when "lewd and inappropriate content" reaches the public. One person can record or copy the offense and by letter complain to the FCC or their congressman onthe appporiate committee. licensies can be rovked and fines assessed to site owners. The wide reading of The 1st Amendment may be under attck inthis politically charged environment in an election year.

Future post: "Wow, did you all see the _____(backhand?) of that hot Czech teen at the nadaq 100. boy I'd like to ____ (hit?) with her!" Must run as my office is having the "voluntary" morning prayer meerting."

TW is required to staff a position "FCC CC" (Content Censor). Too much has been slipping in apparanetly and an old lady in Missouri reported the site for sexually racy comments on the WTA.

Oh gee, where do I send my resume? I spend so much time on internet tennis boards that I might as well get paid for it!

And TW staff, I'll be by your place in IW to pester you!

Is this for real? Movies can show simulated violence, murder in graphic detail; the media glamorizes things gang related to the youth but show a bit of anatomy on TV and the sirens screech aloud as the moral authorities that be decide it's a morally corrupting influence.

You know, I am about to complete the certification for FCC CC. I will be a CFCCCC in two weeks. I can make myself available and will fund the move to California if accepted by TW.

This has GOT to be BS.. otherwise, just put a disclaimer on the boards that you're not responsible for content. If even that doesn't work, I'm sure there could be a way to host the forum in my country..

Rabbit, I have a question for you since you're well versed in FCC regulation. Will the networks be banned from airing any WTA match featuring players wearing racy outfits which might offend viewers of shall we say a more sensitive, delicate disposition?

Well... You can't own a gun here without a permit and driving isn't allowed until you're 18. However, one is allowed to drink soft alcoholic drinks at 16 and high percentage ones at 18, smoking pot inot punished and we don't hold someone that provides an opportunity to speak responsible for what is being said.

That is like going to a pub and then sueing the owner because the people next to you were talking about their favourite male strippers..

Racy outfits will only be banned if Justin Timberlake is attending the tournament.
There are also regulations in the works for men who wear wife-beaters.

First off, if we're referring to the Jackson deal, that was planned, set-up, and posted well before it went off. An organizied effort by the same organizations the FCC desires to give more conglomerative power to not so long ago.

O.k. then, Clinton gave us sex scandals, small wars, and Y2K middle-man job boosts. Bush gives big wars, more taxes, The Patriot Act (already taking away Constitutional rights), Homeland (Fatherland) Security, and now...

Colin Powell's son is a joke. Take your FCC and shove it.

Censor this, baby.

wife-beater is a sleeveless T-shirt (undershirt like a basketball jersey).

A term we used, I didn't know we invented it. If you ever watch the TV program COPS, you'll notice that the majority, no all of the guys involved in domestic calls either have a) no shirt, or b) a t-shirt with the arms cut out of it. Hence, the term wife-beater. To complete the ensemble, one should have a mullet.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha gonna do......

It's not my regular viewing.

Yes it is, and it's not in my regular viewing either. It did come on FX after Married With Children which is in my regular viewing, so I have seen some scenes.
