Default slowest women's match everrrrrrr.....

it just figures...looking forward to a decent men's final in LA, and i turn on ESPN2 at 5:50, and Venus and Davenport were still in the 2nd set! 2 hours into the match, and they just finished the 2nd set. Now of course we have to wait til they finish before they switch over to the men's final.

That was actually a great match to watch. The level of play wasn't the greatest, but the drama was there. For once, Lindsay fought to the end instead of just rolling over like she usually does. Why on Earth didn't she fight like that against Sharapova at Wimbledon? If she did, it could have been her holding the Champions trophy in the end!

I think that's the problem with building camaraderie with other players. You don't get that killer instinct against them. Lindsey had nothing but praise for Maria before and after the match. I also heard the same thing from Myskina after her match against Clijsters at the AO... since they were good friends, it was hard for her to get really motivated to beat her opponent.

Watching the match live was quite entertaining, hot, but entertaining. It was the best women's match that I have seen in a long while. Both players were hitting lines everywhere. I thought that overall, Venus played better. There were just a few flat spots at crucial times.

Lindsey moved better than she has any time recently. She was the better player today.

The women can't seem to do good If they win 1 and 1 it's not ok and now there is a big fight it isn't good either.
True that there were a lot of errors, especially Venus. Lindsay just played a great match.

I thought that Lindsay was the better player, less errors, great serving and she really kept fighting. So a deserved win for her.

It was a decent quality match, IMO. Great drama though.

Hitting lines? are you kidding? They couldnt sustain a rally worth ****.. They were spraying shots everywhere.. You see haas play after that? That's what you call hitting lines.

Three sets over three hours. You don't have to have even seen the match to know that they were obviously not spraying the ball all over the place. Lots of errors, of course, that is tennis. In this match though, there were lots of opportunities for errors. Really a good and dramatic match.

Really a good win for Lindsey.

Stinking camaraderie will be the end of the William sisters run. How do you amp up against your Fed Cup teammates? Got to go back to the beginning, us against the world. See that look in their eyes, Venus? You gotta get that look back, Serena. Eye of the tiger, girls.

I watched a little of the Lindsay/Venus match but found it too boring to stick with it to the end. Both were hugging the baseline and not creative with their shots. I was surprised to hear Lindsay won as she was not able to run that well.
