Default I've noticed a weird pattern in women's tennis...

I've noticed a weird pattern in women's tennis:

B. Jean King, Everet, Austin, Seles, Sanchez-Vicario are all Sagittarius.
The sign exactly opposite Sagittarius is

Gemini,which includes: Graf, Davenport, V. Williams, Henin-Hardin

Then you have Libra ( Navratilova, Hingis, S. Williams )
Which is exactly opposite

Aires ( Capriati, "slot reverved for Sharapova" ; )

If I'm not mistaken, these four sun signs represent all the women ( some of whom share birthdays )
who have ever held the #1 ranking in the 'open' era.

That leaves eight other signs completely unrepresented......

Coinicdence???..... I think not!! MMMBWHAAA HHAA HHAA HHAA !!!!!!

Thanks San Diego for the setup

I found it interesting.

Clijsters has the same birthday as Davenport, so she is Gemini.

None of that really has any significance.

Also,

Aries and Sagittarius are FIRE signs, while

Gemini and Libra are AIR signs.

Perhaps that why these players rise to the top.

Default The men are everywhere.

I've counted twenty #1's on the men's side.

Sagittarius: Becker

Leo: Wilander, Courier, Sampras, Federer

Taurus: Agassi

Capricorn: Edberg, Rios, Rafter

Virgo: Connors, Moya, Kuerten, Roddick

Cancer: Nastase

Pisces: Lendl, Hewitt

Libra: Muster

Aquarius: McEnroe, Kafelnikov, Safin

No Geminis, Scorpios, or Aries.

Tennisguy,
thanks, I thought it was kinda neat too! forgot about Clijsters though.

Nikeman0092,
seems like there'd be a more random distribution if it was as random as you're implying.
I wonder, how would one calculate the odds?

This one's just to annoy mileslong some more:

Henman and Rusedski share the distinction of being the
only two significant British players since 'who knows when'. They also
share a birthday. And if that ain't weird enough for ya, they both married women named Lucy!!!

Cripes! I don't even KNOW anyone named Lucy.....hold me...

This is interesting. I have often pondered about how many top women players are Gemini.

What I have found odd is that the sign of Gemini does not denote any love for sports or exercise in general. Usually Geminis are said to love books and flirting. By the way Kournikova is also a Gemini.

I would think there would be more Sagittarius top players, as that is the sign that loves sports. Also Aries is a very competitive sign why aren't there more of those? Hey I thought Hingis was an Aries, but you say she is a Libra.

It is interesting that both Sampras and Federer are Leos and they have similiar demeanors on and off court.

Danel you must have a lot of time on your hands as well or you wouldn't be reading all these posts. Just because you don't happen to understand or care about astrology does not mean you judge those who do.

Agruably two of the greatest tennis players of this or any other generation-Sampras and Federer-are Leos, and so, it turns out, am I.

Coincidence? I think not.

Rod Laver, though not of the Open Era, is also a Leo.

PJVA,
Nicely put. I like your response to Danel's slight.

btw Danel and mileslong, I have a full-time job, play in a band four to five night a week and am halfway through
my summer courses in radiology (yippeee!). So, I don't think I need you guys to regulate my free time....m'kay

PJVA, Gemini people, imo, seem to have exceptional manual and mental dexterity. Two big plusses in tennis I'd say.

p.s. too not to... Danel
his or her hands not their...mileslong

Slack hack,

Don't bother explaining yourself to Danel. Why would he bother reading your thread if he thinks it's a waste of time?

Yes, you make a good point about the manual dexterity of Gemini. I just wonder if when you see the Gemini top women play if it seems like there game revolves much on the manual dexterity aspect? Gemini are also known to be mentally nervous types.

I checked and I see that you are right, Hingis is a Libra. What about some of the other women who show promise lately, such as Kutznetsova, and Sprem? What are their signs?

There's a site called astro.com where you can enter birthdate, time and place and get a full astrological chart and forcasting. I entered that info for Roger Federer since it's posted on his site. Any way, his chart was pretty interesting. He has Sun in Leo, Moon in Scorpio and Virgo rising. Among other things his chart stated that he is warm, charming and clever with the ability to achieve all his goals. He has great physical vitality and drive, yet he prefers to use intellect rather than manual labor to solve problems. [/i]

Stop it. In the men's game, aside from Bjorg, there haven't been other standouts.

Bertchel Banks,

What I mean is that for the most part I don't see the women's game revolving around finese shots that require good hands. Most of the game seems to still be relying on hitting with all their might from the baseline.

Manual dexterity refers to the use of the hands and fingers and I don't see that as the main aspect of the women's game. They are using body strength and arms and legs more so.

Great observation!!! I'm supposed to hit around/play with a guy named Phil this friday in northern NJ. I hope that's not you because then I'm in big trouble.

I'm not surprised by this observation though, every astrological sign has its strenghts and weaknesses, from the looks of things, leo men have strenght or better chances in tennis?

I have not studied your facts, taking them for your word, but there's just so many male players, I'm sure each sign is represented by at least one elite player at least at some point in history.

Interstingly, Leo (like Sag and Aires) is also a Fire sign. I am a water sign, and from the astrological looks of things I will be vaporized when I step out on the court sooner then expected.
