Has tennis champion or runerup ever dropped their cup, plate, or other award during the award ceremony and damaged it? That would be funny.. I just saw the Bryans awarded with a glass container and was imaging if they dropped it lol

It happens all the time, I'd say at least once a year.

I remember Davenport dropping hers at some tournament in France a few years back... It was made of glass I think!

Yep, I can think of at least 2 incidents on the men's tour but I don't remember the specifics

Here`s one for you. Safin held up his trophy in spain and it fell apart (much like his career at the moment). What fine craftmanship from the people at the open seat godo! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/ten.../barcelona_ap/

The only reason Ferrero lost that match was that he knew it would fall apart, so he let Safin win

I have seen a couple of trophies get dropped, some of them are just waiting for it by the look of them.

I am sure that Henman wouldn't of minded if he dropped the one that he won at Paris last November!! That has to be the worst looking trophy I have ever seen.

The Dutch Open trophy is pretty pathetic in its own rite:

Looks like it came out of a candle shop.
