Does anyone know if Eagnas Glide Bar clamps will fit an Ektelon's glide bars? And, if they do, are the Eagnas clamps any good? Will they last?
Thanks. |

I don't know about eagnas, but you might want to try mutual power, Their service seems much better.

I've got about 300 frames on a pair of Eagnas glide bar clamps. No problems.

Thanks. Do you know if they'll fit an Ektelon glide bar? Can you measure the diameter of your glide bars? Then, I can measure the diameter of the glide bars on this machine.

I've got an old German micrometer. I get .58 inch on the glide bars. The length of the clamp, from tip to tip, is 5 5/8 inches. |

Thanks. They just may work then. Before I got my Alpha, I had an Ektelon H model. I got new clamps for it. I'm pretty sure they were the same that are used on the Neos. They worked fine. But, at over $50/clamp, I was trying to help this guy find something less costly. I also had a Winn Pro (same as the Eagnas 4-pt mounting system--700 I think), but I can't remember if I ever tried those clamps on the Ektelon. I really don't want this guy (a HS guy) to get some clamps that don't work.

I suppose the other main issue would be the height of the clamp teeth in relation to the stringbed. The distance from the top of the clamp's glide bar hole to the tip of the teeth is 4 13/16 inches. |

Did you ever determine if the Eagnes (or Mutual Power or...?) clamps fit an Ektelon Model D? I, of course, called Tennis Machines and the tech told me the new Prince Neos clamps are compatible (one post I read questioned this). They are $65 each. That makes the Eagnes clamps at $14.95 each pretty attractive; if they fit. |

one more thing, when ordering the glide bar clamps from eagnas, don't mention it will be used for ektelon or whatever brand just say its for their eagnas 700le model or whatever eagnas machine with glide bars. That way he won't refuse your order. Last edited by Young Pete : 12-16-2006 at 11:12 AM. |

I bought one of the Silent Partner clamps. It's too tall, but the shaft is the right diameter. I sure wish these companies would come up with a standard.

The companies know that with proper care the clamps last for a long time. My Gamma clamps are 19 years young with 4000 plus string jobs done. I've had to replace the adjustment nut twice, that all.
The rail height of the different producers varies so the lack fo standardization. i guess they want to say it isn't a direct copy. |
