I need help with an OLD Stringing machine

I recently bought an Ektelon C stringing machine for $50, I figured I couldn't go wrong. It works well, its not nearly as easy to use as the machines I use at work; however, it appears that through wear and use it is necessary to hold the crank in position once the lever "pops". It will pop once the tension is reached, but it will slowly be pulled by the string towards the machine - losing tension

. As I said I do hold the crank and it will keep tension, but then I am forced to deal with the clamps with just one hand. Any suggestions?

I am fairly certain there's a brake in the tension head that holds it when it locks out. Your best bet is to contact TennisMachines, Inc. in St. Louis. If you're a USRSA member, they may be able to help you too.
