I'm not even sure if I'll watch this live as I don't think Mayer has a chance, but Mayer's hot serve could be trouble if Thiem gifts a break which he's done in the not too distant past.

Personally would love to see Mayer win this and the title, even if it is less likely. The guy has had a really bad run with injuries and it'd be probably as big a title as he would win in his career - being on grass (not many of those) and a home ATP 500 title.

Yup, that's what a high seed gives you; he worked hard to get to No.7 in the world and it results in better draws. It's divine compensation for all the murderous draws he was getting earlier in the year; they looked like they were drawn-up by Goffin's mother.

I watched his match with Seppi the whole way through and he was very inspired. 69% first serves in is very high and some excellent movement for 6'3" and nice variety. Very solid/strong off the ground.
