Messi will never be GOAT then. No world cup. trolololololol.

Mane on his way to Liverpool. Mkhitaryan on his way to United.

Well he'll just have to cry into his multiple Champions League and La Liga titles, champs league is the biggest in football anyway these days. Unfortunate for him though missing a penalty in the shootout and everything but there we go. Never seemed to be as good for Argentina anyway. I'm not sure about called him the greatest anyway, the greatest of modern times but not ever. The new lighter balls and the rest of it makes it easier. No coincidence so many records being broken these days. Much harder to name a GOAT in football, far more than tennis really which is also, frankly impossible. Because of it being a team game, George Weah for instance couldn't be expected to get close to a World Cup, though a great player, same with the many others who play for smaller nations. George Best for instance is one such example and no player wins tournaments on their own they may be heavily influential but they need at least a good team around them to do it.

Pretty happy with Mane, although a winger hardly the weak link but I do like him. Remember Liverpool going for that other guy a way back before he went to Dortmund, be interesting to see how he does.

Mane to Liverpool, 30 million apparently. Very happy with that.
40 Million Euros. And Gundogan went to city for 26...

I can't understand Liverpool's transfers. They always buy overpriced players from the EPL - heck, they love to give money to Southampton specially...

1 year left on his contract, pushes the price down.

Mane's more a forward anyway which are always more expensive but he's a quality player. £30 million isn't bad for a player of his quality. Get a fair bit back from selling Benteke anyway. Certainly has been some incidence of that as you say, Benteke and Carroll being the biggest examples, but I don't think this is one of those.

Doesn't he play a sort of Coutinho role? I've always seen him as an attacking midfielder/number 10 type.

Liverpool have a pretty good side, with 3 or 4 areas they need to strengthen. I'd of thought they would of looked to fix those first, Mane seems to be more of a luxury at this point.

I can't really talk though, we've hardly been linked with anyone, let alone made any bids lol.

Not really, he usually plays on the wing or as a second striker (alongside pelle or long for Southampton). He offers something that our other forwards haven't really got (Ibe aside), which is pace. Hes faster then Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, probably Sturridge. He's going to play in the right/left wing if we go with jurgens favourite 4231.plus, apparently, Klopp was a big fan of him from his salzburg days. He's the perfect signing imo, rather him then Gotze or Mkhitaryan. And the 30m quoted is decent I'd say, heck Watford want 32m to sell Deeney! One thing that bothers me a bit is his inconsistency, a tad like Coutinho in that department, but I've got faith in klopp that he can sort it out. It's an African Cup of nations year as well, so he'll miss our games against United, Chelsea and Stoke I think, possibly spuds too.

We are after another lb, Chilwell is being reported as the main target (Leicester want 10m), then our backups are Andrew Robertson (Hull don't want/need to sell though) and Joyce reported that were looking at Bertrand too, lol, Southampton fans must be fuming. There's Hector as well the German left back but it's gone quiet the last week. Don't think we were really in for him. I think we'll get Chilwell for something like 8m plus add ons, he would be a decent challenge for moreno and gomez in that position. And we probably need another CM, seeing as Allen is for sale, some dahoud bloke is one of the targets, I've never seen him play but have heard really good things. incomings should be sorted by the start of the preseason anyway, Klopp wants them all ready from the get go.

Deffo no need for another GK, RB, CB, attacking midfielder. Probably no strikers as well.

It always helps when you have some kind of idea what you need! I think Liverpool are 3-4 signings in specific areas away from being a solid, consistent top 4 side again.

With the uncertainty around a lot of our players and a new manager who wants to change the whole system, we could be looking at a new keeper, two wing backs, a few central defenders capable of playing in a 3, 3 central midfielders to replace Ramires, Mikel and Matic and 3 strikers if Costa gets his move back to Atletico and Conte plays his favoured 2 up top.

Only gonna cost about £750 Million, will need to be done in 2 weeks by the time Conte is back from the Euros.. Oh and there's no Champions League football as incentive. Easy! o_O

No speculation of a LB for Liverpool? Another season with Moreno is another season lost, hahahahaha.

Think you should stick with Moreno ;)

See Chelsea look like signing Batshuayi. Haven't seen alot of him, but i'm told he's a target man who's inconsistent, selfish in front of goal, doesn't play for the team without the ball and can't play with someone alongside him. Bargain at £35 Million! Not sure how that's going to work with Conte loving intelligent players and 2 up top, but there we go.

"consistent' is the key word. I have no doubts that we Can finish in the top4 next season, but at the same time I can't see us transform into a consistent top4 side in the short term at least (after all, I think only arsenal and Man City can consider themselves "lock ons" for the top4). Klopps biggest task will be just that - to sort out the consistency, and make us a regular Big 4 side again (when seasons finishing 6th will feel like an anomaly). Incomings have been sound, and the transfer window hasn't even started mind, so thats a positive. No European football next season may be a blessing in disguise, both for us and Chelsea.

I've heard of him, but can't recall watching him either. 35 million seems a bit over the top though (United paid a similar amount for some defender from villarreal mind).

I think that's a sensible way of looking at things. Obviously Liverpool crave the title, but giving Klopp time to build a culture and develop a team is definitely the way to go. I think the teams who'll do best over the medium to long term will be the ones who have a 5+ year plan (Liverpool and Spurs seem to be doing the best in that regard at the moment). I'm not sure Mourinho and Conte are the ones to do that with Chelsea and United. I have doubts about Guardiola at City too.

250k a week isn't it?

Mental. At least not quite Rooney levels.

Has the potential to be an even bigger flop then Falcao, here's hoping

Sources have confirmed, he'll be head of motivation and will take a section of training teaching how to tie a ponytail properly.

lol I picture an article in the paper about Ibra and ''why hair comes first''. He will show them how to get the most out of their ponytail. wow those ladies in an instant with the flow.

I'm sure Rooney will be adding extra hair transplant sessions this season in preparation :p

He'll probably end up looking more like a 1980's Chris Waddle after it, but still..

One of the last true loyal club legends. Would be nice if he becomes a good coach and comes back one day.

Btw, there is a lot of penalty workout to do, looking at how your guys performed yesterday. ;)

With that avatar and the way Barcelona have been converting them recently, you're not really in a good position to talk about penalties mate. ;)

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing. Loved by the reds, feared by the blues... Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs.

My number one football hero. All the best to him.

His French colleague from London didn't avoid them either.

“There are some managers, the last time they won a title was 10 years ago, the last time I won was a year ago" :D

I can't wait for the arsenal united games this year. Hopefully brings back memories of their matches from 12 years ago (I doubt it but here's hoping).

Or at least, we get to see more of this

Those times won't come back anytime soon. The passion has died a bit in recent years when it comes to that rivalry.

I can't wait for all of the big games. His history with Wenger, his history with Pep, his history with Liverpool... With his arrival, Mourinho has probably ensured Manchester United will have more haters than ever. :D

@Slice'n'dice told you we'll sell trekkers for at least 27m. He can be a fantastic player in the right system. Now we're asking for 30m up front (Palace offered 27.5+4m add ons). I think we'll sell him for sth like 30m+2m add ons, basically were taking our money back:cool: in hindsight, he was 100% worth it, we basically gave a million or two to relegate Aston Villa. yep, definitely worth it. :p
