N'Golo Kante has signed for Chelsea. The blues have a master interceptor in their squad now.

I hope that will be the only departure from Leicester this summer.

Pleased with that one. Still need more reinforcements though, he's essentially replacing Ramires who left in January, and we were already pretty thin in that department.

My guess would be a centre back next, not sure who though.

It's definitely a good one. He was by far #1 in tackles won and interceptions in 2015-16 EPL.

I think Matic is being linked with a move to Juventus and Manchester United. Chelsea shouldn't accept an offer if there is one, that's one really good player.

Good signing for Chelsea, he's one of the few Leicester players who I do think could be for real. Sorry Vardy you ain't (and to be honest you are a ****). Also agree selling Matic would be a big mistake he is quality I think.

Big Sam to be confirmed as England manager in next 24 hours.

The fantasy football adverts are very amusing. Jeff Stelling trolling.

It's now confirmed by the evening news. Allardyce might not choose the 'best' tactics but he will be decisive with clear tactics which the squad will all know about, every player will be told in certain terms what they are expected to do. Contrast that to Roy who couldn't decide what to do and the players ran around only half knowing what the gameplan was, if one existed.

Matic wasn't good last year, but he was incredible the year before yeah. Guess we'll find out this season who the real Matic is!

I still think we're a bit light in that position. Conte seems to want to go 433, Fabregas, Matic and Conte is a seriously strong first choice. Behind them there's not a lot though.

I suppose no Europe this year means it might be ok short term, as long as nobody gets injured.

I hear Pogba is close to Utd at £100 Million and £220k after tax per week. Crazy numbers!

Pogba rumors won't stop.

I hope L'Equipe got it right sometimes in the past with these transfers. Anyway, that's too much money not just for Pogba, but for any player. The saddest thing is that in a decade or two, that will be the amount for just another regular transfer...

Mario Gotze seems to be close to returning to Borussia Dortmund. I wonder if the fans will forgive him for betrayal.

Luckily enough I never handed out 'buying your success' jibes. Hopefully it brings success. Spending all that money to finish 5th next season. :/

Crazy numbers indeed.

No, I don't think he is coming.

It would be hilarious though, letting your player go for free and then signing him for a world record fee.

Hahaha! Serves me right for replying on my phone and being too lazy to put the laptop on. Hopefully autocorrect will remember Kante after this season. Having said that, Conte could probably still do a job in midfield if needs be :p

I always assumed Pogba would end up in Spain, I'm sure he probably will play some of his peak years over there, regardless of his next move. As you say, these ridiculous kinds of money are becoming more common, if he improves the team and they have the money, it makes sense I guess.

If Stoke can have a 2 man midfield of Imbula and Allen costing £35 million.. Pogba at Man Utd for £100 Million is similar in relation to size of club/wealth I suppose.

Absolutely made up about Wijnaldum. Great player, strong, versatile, can play three of four different positions. Looked good in an awful Newcastle side last year. Decent fee as well.

I like Allen and I think he's a good, tidy player but 13m is too good to turn down with one year left on his contract. He and imbula will certainly be one interesting midfield duo for Stoke.

Also, welcome Ragnar the Red! :p

A couple more incomings and we're sorted I'd say, definitely a left back (although Chilwell seems dead) and maybe another defensive minded midfielder, especially if Lucas goes.

God I wish I was around for Red Star Belgrades glory years :(

Are you a fan of Red Star Belgrade? That Grujic lad we got from them looks absolutely boss!!! Scored another goal yesterday, was everywhere during the first half. Be interesting to see him with can in the Premier league, no more bullying from West Ham and Stoke

lol. Brilliant source.

Super excited atm, got sorted for hull a couple hours ago (had one hour wait in the queue for Hull ****ing city!!!!) Got all the other games on Tuesday morning(sale for those on 13+ credits), five minute wait easy peasy for kop and kemlyn, I'll try the new main stand as well.

Cant wait for next season!!!!!! Bring it on:cool:

£100 million is crazy money but that is football these days. Man Utd are extremely rich, rather they spent it than going into the Glazer's pockets. Apparently as % of revenue it is the same as £30 million for Ferdinand all those years ago..

Hopefully Pogba turns out well and he is worth it.

Raiola once again stated there is no deal... This is getting really boring now. Hope they just say already that Pogba is staying or that he is moving elsewhere.

Anyway, Manchester United squad numbers have been released.

Martial changed to number 11 while Ibrahimovic took the Frenchman's previous number 9. Mkhitaryan got Scholes' last number he wore, that's 22. Bailly will have number 3 which was previously worn by Patrice Evra.

I am sure Manchester United will get that money back but it's ridiculous what football has turned into. And I never thought Manchester United would be the club to ever break a transfer record.

If he comes, I hope the price tag won't be too much of a pressure for him. People might expect from him to play part in at least 1-2 goals every game for that money.

Marcus Rashford didn't get a number, I presume.

Imagine going into a coma after Eric Cantona signed and then waking up to see that Paul Pogba had signed for whatever he signs for. Then you realize that is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm thinking of transfer fees I wont be alive to see. haha crazy numbers.

I agree about pressure. If he is that good then it shouldn't be a problem.

I am their fan as well, here is hoping he plays well in serious games.

One man I really wanted to succeed at Liverpool (though he wasn't from Red Star before) was Milan Jovanovic. Excellent forward in Standard Liege and was good at the World Cup, scored a winner against the Germans, awesome scenes. :D But he only scored a goal or two and played for one season, pity.

The crazy moment when the real world is catching up to fees you have paid in Football Manager. The real world is going to top it soon. I believe the highest I paid was 130 for some regenerated Mexican Goalkeeper. Outrageous stats for a 18 year old. I had to have him. :p

It is already a comedy that they will probably pay a record 100+ million for a player who actually came from their own academy. Juventus would definitely win a lot in that deal. Their squad isn't getting much weaker, it's been solid bussiness from them so far and they coped well with departures of their good players in the past: Vidal, Pirlo, Tevez...

It's official!

Mario Götze has returned to Borussia Dortmund. Excellent replacement for recently departed Mkhitaryan.

Fun fact: Götze is only 24 years old but has already won 5 Bundesliga titles.

Current three record holders for most titles won as a player have 8 (Scholl, Kahn and Schweinsteiger all with Bayern). Time is definitely on Götze's side to break that one.

Memphis to continue killing the legacy of the number 7, or will he realize his potential? Here is hoping.

Did we have a number 2 last season?

6 for Pogba?
It all went downhill with number 7 since Ronaldo left. Michael Owen had an ok impact but it was a really short one. Valencia who was bossing the right wing turned anonymous ever since he got the legendary number. Not saying it had a big role, but 2011-12 was his last good season. Then Di Maria ran away after only one year (the guy is awesome, can't believe it didn't work out). Now Memphis... It's not looking good, but also here is hoping he bounces back.

We didn't. When Rafael left last summer, nobody took over.

It is most probably reserved for that "4th priority signing" that Mourinho was talking about. Hopefully Pogba is that guy.

FC Barcelona have signed Portugal international and Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes for 41,7 million pounds, making him the 4th most expensive FC Barcelona signing, behind Suarez, Neymar and Ibrahimovic.

Good addition to the squad, but it looks like we won't be relying on La Masia much in the future. :(

That is a shame. I'm not a huge fan of Barcelona, but I've always respected them for how they do things.

Having said that, Gomes looks like a good player. I feel he represents far more value for money than Pogba and his wages, personally.

Yes. Barcelona have done very well with their transfers. Neymar, Suarez, Rakitic... All are doing very well. But the identity could be lost. That's why I definitely preferred Pep and Tito in charge when it comes to using youngsters. Can't complain too much though, performances and results have been great anyway.

If Pogba is worth 100+ million, then Gomes is worth 40 million for sure. But those numbers are now totally out of control.

I agree, the top clubs usually always have an identity and a soul. All clubs do for that matter.

As a Chelsea fan, we lost our way when Abramovich decided he wanted to be Barcelona with more technical players, pretty football etc.. Our identity was strength and character, which worked.

Just like Real probably wouldn't have the success if they started getting the majority of players from the smaller teams in Spain (like Bayern do in Germany, for instance).

That's why I worry about Man Utd with Mourinho and the way they seem to be heading (£100 Million for Pogba, hired gun for a year or two in Zlatan etc..)

Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly having a medical at Juventus.

Apart from the transfer fee of course, this is similar to the Lewandowski move from BVB to Bayern. League champion is taking the best player of the league runner-up who also finished the season as the best goalscorer.

Considering how much Napoli demanded for Higuain, this probably means that the Pogba transfer to Manchester United will happen soon.

Yikes  looks like they ran out of material half way through and sent the work experience kid to pick up some more.. Evidently he bought back a different colour  also appears he ran over the middle of it with his moped on his return.. That tire mark down the middle? Bizarre.

I really liked last years kit, the whole '90 throwback was nicely done. This years though? Suppose at least they're getting huge sums of money from Adidas.

That was a bad one! Haha. They've had some really nice ones over the years though. Last years was great, so was the early 90's one it was modelled on. I liked the 99 treble winning one with the zip, same for the one they wore when they stopped Chelsea winning 3 in a row (had a little bit of gold, I do believe!).

You can see why the trend towards retro replicas from the '90s and earlier is growing, modern kits aren't as good as they used to be.

I've been trying to get a mid 90's Chelsea shirt (think Di Matteo in the '97 FA Cup final), but they're going for £100+! I've still got a few from back in the day, unfortunately I've grown a bit since I was 8 though :p
